Nesting amid a coconut palm garden is the Ayurweda Walauwa -a delightful hideaway on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, 65 kilometers from Colombo. Taking the style of colonial architecture, for many decades the original manor house (Walauwa) was the stately home of a nobleman. a complete renovation enhanced the mansion into a spacious resort with beautifully landscaped gardens, condusive to practice the ancient healing art, its interiors reflect a harmonious, traditional atmosphere complemented by unique antique wood work. To enjoy the sun and the soothing sea breeze, guests have access to the white sandy beach of the Bentota National Holiday Resort which is only 50 meters away.

Accommodation
The resort consists of 20 spacious guest rooms (2 of which are deluxe rooms) with hot and cold water, shower, WC, air conditioning, radio and telephone set in beautifully kept tropical gardens.


Facilities and Services

Amenities such as evening entertainment, room and laundry service, the Ayurveda shop, money change, international phone calls, and a left-luggage office round off the services offered at Ayurveda Walauwa.



Yoga and meditation are also offered, as they complete the individual therapies and promote their success. Ayurveda Walauwa Resort's health center is the peaceful heart of the resort…enjoy the treatments in a calm, inviting and warm atmosphere.

Treatments

The following are the main treatments that would be administered in the Intensive Regeneration Programme. The selection and frequency of treatments will be according to the Chief Doctor's advise which will vary according to the needs of the individual guest. All specialized treatments will also be administered when needed in the cure of specific ailments without any extra charge.

Muhuna Abyanga (Face Massage)
A facial massage with oil or herbal cream to remove impurities and achieve smoothness. It soothes the nerve structure of the face. 
 

Shirsha Abyanga ( Head Massage)
The head and nape of the neck is massaged with oil to stimulate blood circulation, make nerve tracts flexible and resilient, promote hair growth and relax tenseness.

Vishesha Sharira Abyanga (Synchronized Massage)
You will be massaged gently and synchronously by two therapists using special oil to strengthen and invigorate the skin and tissue, and lymphatic and immune system for deep relaxation and harmony.


Vishesha Prathikara (Special Therapy)
Our senior Physician will prescribe special therapy using specific herbal medicine and oil, in the cure of specific ailments.


Shirodhara
Lukewarm oil is continuously and gradually poured on the forehead through a copper vessel while the guest is lying down on a special bed - recommended for headaches, depression and sleeplessness bringing mental and spiritual relaxation.


Sarwangadara (Pizichil)

Warm medicated liquid/oil are poured on the body together with mild massages.

Pinda Sweda (Warm oil and Herbal Massage)

Warm oil massage followed by heated herbal -rice bag massage for relaxation, pain relief and stimulation of blood circulation.


Avagahana Sweda (Herbal Water Bath)
A warm herbal bath to relax tension, purify the system, alleviate pain and for general well-being. 




Vashpa Sweda (Herbal Steam Bath)
As many as 6 fresh herbs and 12 dried herbs make up the boiling pot which produces the steam for this remedy. It opens the capillaries and tissue crevices to induce sweating and excrete waste matter.


Akshi Tharpana (Eye Therapy)

A special treatment for ailments using herbal medicine.



Acupuncture (Chinese medicine)

Ayurveda and Acupuncture harmonizes well in specific cases. It is dispensed with the guest's consent.

Panchakarma
(Vamana, Vireka, Vasti, Raktha Mochana, Nasaya)
Five Ayurveda remedies used in the cleansing process of ones system, through which toxins and other harmful substances in the body are eliminated.
