| Poetto Beach |
|
Poetto is one of the most beautiful city beaches in the Mediterranean. It is just 5 Km from the centre of Cagliari and stretches along about 11 Km of sandy coastline. This fine, white sandy beach attracts thousands of locals, as well as tourists, all year round, and the many kiosks, bars and bathing establishments offer a wide range of services and comforts. Thanks to the warm, Mediterranean climate, Poetto beach is a haven for beach-lovers from the end of April to the end of October. In the waters around Poetto beach there are numerous sailing regattas and contests, among which:
- The 60 foot Italian Open Championship;
- The "Vela Latina Mediterranea", part of the international circuit;
- The Tiscali Cup.
In the nearby harbour of Marina Piccola visitors can admire all kinds of yachts, motorboats and sailing boats. For the more energetic, there are regattas, sailing and wind-surfing courses, as well as the chance to rent boards and boats. The Marina also has a very good restaurant and "gelateria", or ice-cream parlour, for those who just wish to take in the view.

Quartu S.Elena Beach
This beach is, in fact, a natural continuation of Cagliari's Poetto beach and therefore maintains its fine, white sand and crystalline sea. Bathers have at their disposal all the necessary services and facilities for their comfort, as well as numerous bars and restaurants.

The Beach at Nora - Pula
The town of Pula lies about 27 km from Cagliari, just off the SS 195 road. Continuing for a few kilometres beyond the town will take you to the beach at Nora.
Nora is definitely worth a visit because it offers not only this splendid beach, but also an important archaeological site, the Punic city of Nora. Besides the fine, white sandy beach there are marvellous coves, surrounded by rocks, and the crystal clear water allows visitors to admire the archaeological remains which have been covered by the sea.
Further along the SS 195 road towards Teulada, about 35 km from Cagliari, we find the extraordinary Santa Margherita beach, immersed in an impressive pinewood, which stretches for about 12 km.
Both beaches offer bathers all the necessary services and facilities to enjoy this fabulous coastline in comfort. |

| Cala Regina Beach |
| |
It is a pebble beach which presumably gets its name from the word "Arruina", which refers to the impressive backdrop of cliffs.
At the far end of the beach there is one of the watchtowers from the XVII century, which are dotted along the whole coastline. |

| Teulada Beach |
| |
Continuing along the SS 195 road, we come to the town of Teulada and the dark grey, limestone promontory of the same name, which rises up for about 40 m.
From here visitors can admire the fine, white, sandy beach below. The beach is about 70 m wide and its splendid dunes, formed by the wind, can reach a height of 30 m..
The surrounding vegetation is mainly made up of pine trees and Mediterranean shrub, while the sandy shore reveals the presence of sea turtles, which seem to have chosen this beach to lay their eggs. |
