Tour Itinerary
Days 1-2: Ladispoli
You are met in Rome and transferred to La Posta Vecchia, your elegant hotel in Ladispoli. Explore the surrounding Roman town of Viterbo. Visit Tarquinia's Archaeological Museum that houses one of Italy's finest collections of Etruscan treasures. Sit down to lunch on your own on the shores of Lake Bracciano and sample the famous Est Est Est wine of Montefiascone. Spend the afternoon in Cerveteri, a fascinating Etruscan necropolis.
DayS 3-4: Castiglione della Pescaia
Drive along the scenic Tyrrhenian coast en route to Castiglione della Pescaia and your hotel, L'Andana. Experience Tuscany's gastronomy: your hotel's Trattoria restaurant is managed by world-acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse, and you join him for a twohour cooking class. Then head to Bolgheri for an exclusive tour of Ornellaia Wine Estate with a wine tasting in their cellar.
Days 5-6: Portofino
Make your way up the Ligurian coastline and privately visit one of Tuscany's oldest pasta makers for a traditional demonstration. Spend two nights at the majestic Hotel Splendido in Portofino. A private boat trip along the picturesque Cinque Terre reveals tiny unspoiled fishing villages that cling to the steep cliffs of the coastline. Take time out to fish for mussels, which are then prepared on board by your professional chef.
Days 7-8: Verona
Stop for an exclusive visit to meet a renowned balsamic vinegar producer. Your next two evenings are at the Byblos Art Hotel in Corrubbio near Verona, a city that owes its romantic reputation to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Your local guide takes you to Piazza delle Erbe, Juliet's house and the Roman Arena, one of the largest and finest preserved amphitheaters. Then explore the classic Valpolicella wine region and stop at a neo-classical estate for a tour and a wine tasting in its 18th-century cellar.
Day 9: Venice
Travel to romantic Venice and take a private boat through the Grand Canal to your hotel, Bauer Il Palazzo. Walk through the city this afternoon to visit St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace, once the seat of Venetian government.
Day 10: Airport
