The history of this special resort is as impressive as its surroundings. In 1880, Giuseppe Gambardella costructed the original structure. Crescenzo Gambardella, his son, redesigned the property in 1904, constructing the original six guestrooms. Two generations of Gambardellas have improved the hotel, bringing the resort to its present 70 guestrooms and suites. Today, Crescenzo's daughters, Giusi and Ninni Gambardella, assisted by their children, directly manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel and take personal interest in the comfort and enjoyment of the resort guests.
Each of the 66 luminous rooms and suites have a balcony or a terrace or large windows with view on the Amalfi coast. Many have a large terrace or garden. They are furnished with early 20th century family pieces and decorated with Vietri multi-coloured ceramics. The rooms emphasise the atmosphere of exquisite welcome: each is different from the other and is enriched by a touch of fantasy. The suites are stunning, in particular "Romeo and Juliet" (an intimate two-storey chalet perched on the cliff above the sea), "Follia Amalfitana" immersed in the citrus grove, "Casa dell'Arancio" (House of the Orange ), "Vite" (Grapevine), "Glicine" (Wisteria), "Campanule" (Bellflowers) and "Limoni" (Lemons). All the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, direct dial telephones, , voice mail, PC outlet with ADSL lines , satellite colour TV, minibar, safety box and most rooms have Jacuzzis. 24-hour room service. 
Honeymoon retreat. This independent suite is accessible from our botanic gardens and has large windows with view over the garden and the sea in the background. The suite is laid on two levels: the entrance is on the lower floor where you find the sitting room with a large and comfortable divan. From the sitting area there is a staircase that leads to the king-bedded bedroom. Outside the bathroom, close to the bed, there is a large round Jacuzzi with window, which overlooks the upper terrace of the suite and the sea. The suite is tiled with white ceramics and chestnuts wood. The bathroom has a large shower and is tiled with white and orange tiles.
An aperitif, a snack, a drink after dinner are extremely pleasant in our bar lounge or the large terrace with view over Amalfi and the wonderful bay. The Barman prepares a large selection of cocktails, long drinks and home-made lemon liqueurs, accompanied by hot and cold canapés.
The delightful Bar located at the Beach Club offers an attentive service with an extensive choice of soft drinks, fruit cocktails and tropical drinks to refresh oneself during the hours dedicated to sun and sea.
