The potato gnocchi are a real treat, served with bits of horse meat, dusted with local Pecorino cheese. the full treatment is delightful from start to finish, topped off by an exquisite grappa soft ice dessert. The wine cellar is well-stock with a full range of wines, not only regional.

Via don A. Rizzi, 11  Closed Mondays at lunch and Sundays Most likely the most beautiful place in town, all done in wood and old molded plaster just steps away from the cathedral and university. The tables are festively decked out in lace, with the finest in glass and cutlery. The cuisine is innovative, while not losing track of its Trentine roots. From gnocchi to tagliatelle, the pasta is all home-made and, when in season, the local black truffles are artfully paired with fresh mushrooms. Special items are the fagottino pasta pouches filled with veal and venison served with a plum and quince sauce. Desserts are good and the cookies are fresh from the oven.

Closed: Sundays In front of the university, this is the wine center of the city. Snacks accompanying the varied wines include meatballs, fried cheeses and a few surprises...even fresh oysters! Quite a special little place!.

Margone di Ravina,15  Closed Thursdays With the aire of a mountain refuge and its Tyrolian decor, this restaurant offers a typical South Tyrolian cuisine: salami and ham, home-made pasta with mushrooms in the fall and asparagus in spring. The roasts and goulashes are divine. Weather permitting, tables are set up on the terrace overlooking the valley and vineyards which produce Trento Talento Doc wine.
