Itinerary
Days 1 - 3 - Depart for Geneva, Switzerland
Explore the treasures of Lausanne, including the gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. In Montreux, visit the 13th-century Chillon Castle, and in international Geneva, discover the beautiful churches and museums of Old Town.
Days 4 & 5 - Gruyeres, Bern & Interlaken
Sample Gruyères’ world-famous cheeses, visit its historic castle, and discover Bern’s ornate Clock Tower, bridge and cathedral. Delight in spectacular views as a train takes you to the top of Jungfraujoch which dominates the peaks of Eiger and Mönch. Then explore an ice cave and view the massive rock face called the sphinx. On return, pass through the resort town of Grindelwald.
Days 6 & 7 - Zermatt
Enjoy stunning Alpine scenery as you travel over Susten Pass to Andermatt. Board the Glacier Express for majestic views of the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Corner Glacier, and delve into the region’s mountaineering history at the Alpine Museum in Gornergrat.
Day 8 - Ascona
Travel from Zermatt to Ascona, the elegant, visitor center of Lake Maggiore with its castles and alpine splendor. On the way, cross Simplon Pass traveling through tunnels, mountains and valleys of awe-inspiring beauty.
Days 9 & 10 - Bellagio, Italy
Cruise from Stresa to the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore, site of lavish villas and gardens. Explore Isola Bella, dominated by the 17th-century Borromeo Palazzo on Lake Maggiore, and beautiful Bellagio on Lake Como. At Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, delight in neoclassical architecture and period furniture. While at Bellagio, stroll quaint streets and romantic gardens.
Days 11 & 12 - Milan
In sophisticated Milan, a bustling city of history, culture and elegance, your guide leads you through the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie to view da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper.
