Day 2 palermo
Arrival at Palermo airport and independent transfer to your hotel. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local trattoria. (D)

Day 3 the godfather movie in corleone & ficuzza natural park
Today drive across the countryside to Corleone, known as the birthplace of the Mafia. Later we continue to Ficuzza. Enjoy a village walk and light local lunch in the ancient rail station. Later back to Palermo. (BB L)

Day 4 cefalù & nebrodi
Today we visit Cefalù, a charming coastal town. Leaving Cefalù we drive along the Tyrrenian coast and enter majestic Nebrodi Park. We stop for lunch (not included) in a local restaurant. This afternoon we cross the slopes of Mount Etna to reach Taormina. Tonight dinner at hotel (BB D)

Day 5 the rocky necropolis of pantalica
(In case of bad weather, we will exchange Syracuse for this excursion.) Today a day trip to Pantalica. We visit the Necropolis of Pantalica, tracing the presence of pre-historic man. Afternoon return to Taormina (BB)

Day 6 mt etna jeep ride
A short drive by Jeep to the slopes of Mt. Etna. Weather permitting, we will see lava fields and incredible views of the volcano. Visit the Cave of Thieves, Mount Fontana and the extinct craters of Sartorius Mounts. Next a farmhouse visit to enjoy a typical light lunch of Etna artisan foods. We drive to the entrance of Alcantara Gorges and return to Taormina by coast road. (BB L)

Day 7 caltagirone, agrigento temples & kolymbetra park
Today we drive to Caltagirone. Explore the city centre and admire the beautiful locally made ceramics. Time at leisure. We continue to Agrigento (c. 580 BC), then on to Kolymbetra Gardens, an historic archaeological site. Dinner at our hotel. Tonight, enjoy a tour of Agrigento by Night to admire the Illuminated Temples. (BB D)

Day 8 sant’angelo muxaro,a bread, pizza & cooking experience
This morning we depart for Sant’AngeloMuxaro to meet Donna Concetta. She will teach us Pizza and Bread preparation. Our simple lunch includes Sicilian Pizza and Pane Cunsatu, a typical local bread. This afternoon we visit the little city centre and local shops. Afternoon departure to Palermo. Tonight we gather for a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant (BB L D)
