Cunard Cruises, Queen Victoria Cruise Ship

With the launch of Queen Victoria, three Queens will sail together under the Cunard banner for the first time in our history.
To set eyes on her sleek outline, with her distinctive black and red livery, is to recognise her instantly as the latest classic Cunarder, a unique marriage of heritage and innovation. Warmly reminiscent of a more gracious era, modern technology combines seamlessly with her classic yet contemporary interior.
Elegant and stylish, every public room will create a unique ambience where our renowned White Star Service™ will continue to surpass expectations.
Take your place in history and be among the first to experience the unveiling of this Classic Cunarder on one of her Maiden Voyages in December 2007. For more information about this magnificent ship use the menu on the left hand side.

Public Rooms
Queen Victoria's 'liner' design has provided the ship's interior designers with wonderful spaces offering height and volume. Her Cunard heritage will be reflected in the design of the grand, elegant and intimate public areas.
First impressions matter and Queen Victoria will impress as soon as guests embark into the ship's triple height Grand Lobby, with finishes of light mahogany and marble, and a feature art work spanning over 2½ decks in height, combining intricate metal work with the rich spectral tones of ornamental glass, serving as a dramatic backdrop to the sweeping staircase with ornate wrought iron balustrading and marble stringer detailing. A unique and dramatic ceiling with a central feature chandelier and a decorative classical motif tromp l'oeil, will be balanced perfectly by a feature marble floor area on the lowest deck, with patterns inspired by classic ocean liners.
Dining Just as aboard her sisters Queen Mary 2 and QE2, each grade of cabin is paired with a sea-view restaurant. The restaurants will follow a similar pattern to Cunard's other ships, with Grill Rooms for the higher suites and a main restaurant for the deluxe grades. The main Dining Room, the Britannia Restaurant (seating 900 passengers), is destined to be one of the most remarkable rooms at sea, spanning two decks at the stern of the vessel. It will evoke memories of classic ocean liner restaurants with sweeping staircases, decorative pillars and arches and a spectacular bronze and glass artwork centrepiece. The combination of two-tone wood (mahogany and old cherry) with bronzed mirror and use of typical "art deco" details and design, plus the combination of brass with bronze, results in a contemporary interpretation of a dramatic and elegant restaurant from the golden age of liners. Breakfast and lunch will be served in an open sitting and passengers have the option of either main or late sitting for dinner.
Both the Queens and Princess Grills will be located on top of the ship (11 Deck), enclosed by graceful and gently curving panoramic glass walls on the seaboard sides, and cantilevered out over the side of the vessel above 10 Deck. There will be exclusive access to Grill guests only. Both Grills will offer a single sitting and the restaurants themselves, although architecturally similar, will be uniquely decorated to create individual ambiances. Grills guests will also have exclusive use of their own private lounge, bar and deck terrace, conveniently located next to the Grills restaurants, and complete with resident Concierge. French -style doors will open from each Grill onto the Courtyard Terrace's exclusive patio area, where al fresco dining will be offered, and steps will lead up to the Upper Grills Terrace - a secluded retreat that's on the ship's uppermost deck.
In addition Queen Victoria will offer several alternative dining venues: The 100-seat Todd English Restaurant on 2 Deck will offer innovative Mediterranean cuisine in a modern setting, with leather banquettes and decorative draped columns offering intimate ocean view dining. Passengers need to make reservations and an additional charge will apply.
The informal and spacious 450-seat Lido on 9 Deck will serve breakfast and lunch buffet style.
Café Carinthia will offer sweet pastries and fine teas, whilst the Golden Lion Pub will offer traditional English pub food for lunch and the Hamburger and Salad Bar aft on 9 Deck will offer a light lunch alternative.
Entertainment The magnificent three-deck Royal Court Theatre, with tiered seating for 830, will be the location for the main entertainment of the evening with full-scale, West End-style productions as well as named entertainers. Classically elegant in style this grand auditorium will offer private boxes on the upper level along with a lounge area for guests to enjoy dessert and coffee before the show.
Queen Victoria's two-deck Queen's Room ballroom and is designed for dancing, cocktail parties and traditional English afternoon teas complete with finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones with clotted cream. The room will feature a dramatic high ceiling, crystal chandeliers, a large 1000 sq ft dance floor with inlaid wood patterns and rich wall décor, with spectacular backlit glass panels.
Opposite the Queens Room, yet connected with it, the Queens Arcade will present the perfect location for a quiet lounging area in touch with, yet separate from it, the Queens Room proper. Here, morning coffee and afternoon tea will be served, accompanied with ocean views.
ConneXions Conference Centre and Internet Café on 1 Deck and 3 Deck will comprise an education centre for enrichment programmes, featuring a flexible classroom venue for classes that will include Computer Training, Navigation, Art and Wine Tasting. The Internet Café will enable passengers to stay in touch during their voyage as well as surf the web.
With its retractable glass roof, moveable glass wall looking out to the swimming pool, wooden venetian blinds and oversized ceiling fans, The Winter Garden will be Queen Victoria's indoor / outdoor relaxation area and will be reminiscent of a grand conservatory in the colonial days, complete with fountain and greenery.
Queen Victoria will offer a whole range of bars and clubs (13 in total) to suit a wide variety of tastes and provide a range of atmospheres, including a traditional English Pub (the Golden Lion), a Champagne Bar, a nautically-themed cocktail bar (The Chart Room) and the relaxing Midships Lounge.
Health Facilities Health and fitness facilities will be large and extensive. The Cunard Health Club and Spa will feature the latest spa and beauty treatments for both men and women who will also be able to luxuriate in the hydro-pool and thermal suite. Forward of the Spa will be the expansive gymnasium and aerobics area with state-of-the-art cardiovascular fitness equipment including inclining treadmills and bikes complete with their own personal LCD television screens.
