Itinerary
Day 1- USA–Prague Depart from your US gateway city for an optional overnight flight to Prague.
Day 2 - Prague Arrive Prague and take an optional transfer to your ship or transfer from your Discovery Add-On city. The enchanting and charming city of Prague is known as the “City of One-Hundred Spires,” and strolling through its ancient streets, it’s easy to see why. After embarkation you may wish to explore the old town section and Prague’s many narrow streets and lovely shops.
Day 3 - Prague–Leitmeritz Awake to the sight of Hradcany Castle looming above the River Vltava. Relax on the sun deck while cruising through the charming Czech scenery of small towns, rolling hills and rich farmlands to the town of Leitmeritz.
Day 4 - Königstein–Dresden This morning, cruise into the region of Bohemia, where your included excursion this afternoon presents incredible steep gorges, narrow valleys and bizarre rock formations know as Saxon Switzerland. Explore the high fortress of Königstein with your guide and enjoy the stunning views over the Elbe River Valley. Day 5 - Dresden Enjoy a full day in charming and artistic Dresden, the capital of Saxony. Your morning sightseeing tour of “Florence on the Elbe,” as this city is often referred to, will give you a panoramic tour around the city, including the Great Garden, Dresden’s largest park, the old town section and the Zwinger Palace, one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in Europe. • Dresden City Tour included
Day 6 - Dresden–Meissen This morning, you are free to explore Dresden on your own before the ship departs for Meissen, situated on the Elbe River. Meissen porcelain, long prized by kings and collectors, and known as “white gold,” has been produced for nearly 3 centuries in this important town. This afternoon your included excursion takes you on an extensive tour through the porcelain factory, followed by a visit to Albrecht Castle and the Gothic cathedral for magnificent views over the old town. • Meissen City Tour included
Day 7 - Wittenberg This afternoon we arrive in Wittenberg, where your guided tour of the town will follow “in the footsteps of Martin Luther,” who began the Protestant Reformation in the early 1500s. Your excursion includes a visit to Lutherhouse, where you can view more than 1,000 exhibits highlighting Luther’s life and works. Day 8 - Magdeburg Awake in Magdeburg this morning and enjoy a city tour, highlighting the harmonious blending of the city’s old and new architecture including the Old Market, Baroque city hall, and the cathedral of Magdeburg, the first sacred Gothic building erected on German soil. Spend the afternoon taking in the beautiful scenery as the ship cruises toward Potsdam. • Magdeburg City Tour included
Day 9 - Potsdam–Berlin This morning you’ll disembark the ship in Potsdam. Optional transfers to the Berlin airport are available, or transfer to your Discovery Add-On city.
