This is our most popular Egyptian experience. It is a combination of our Cairo Travelpac and our Nile Cruise recommendations. Your preferred Cairo hotel and cruise will determine the day you join this program (see departures below). Please request the best airfares we offer to Egypt for the time you wish to travel.
Itinerary
Day 1. Arrive Cairo. You will met by Our representative and transferred to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Sheraton (M) / Zoser (F) / Grand Hyatt (D)
Day 2. Pyramids and the Sphinx. Visit Cheops' pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the Sphinx, the great god-lion sentinel. Built over 35 centuries ago, the towering pyramids (one built by Cheops' son Kephren and the other by Mycerinus) erected to preserve their bodies and treasures for the afterlife. After lunch return to your hotel for leisure and overnight. BL
Day 3. Exploring Cairo. Today visit the fabulous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Regarded as one of the most prominent in the world, it offers visitors remarkable insights into Egypt's ancient history dating back 5000 years. The antiquities include King Tutankhamon's Treasures - a spectacle beyond belief! Continue through Old Cairo with visits to the ancient Ben Ezra Mosque, then the Moallaka Church, better known as the "Hanging Church" and the Abu Sergah Church dating back to the beginning of the 5th Century. No tour of Cairo is complete without exploring the famous Khah El Khalili Bazaar. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before returning to your hotel. BL
Day 4. Cairo to Luxor. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Luxor (airfare included). On arrival you will be met by Our representative and transferred to your Nile Cruise Ship, your floating hotel for the next 5 days. After lunch, enjoy guided sightseeing of the East Bank including the Temples of Luxor and Karnak, a holy city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues and obelisks built over the centuries and dedicated to the God Amon-Ra. Day 5. Sail to Edfu. Early morning visit to the West Bank, where you?ll explore the astonishing and extensive New Kingdom city of "Thebes". Sightseeing includes the Valley of Kings where some of Egypt?s Pharaohs were buried, the Valley of Queens where you visit the splendid Deir El Bahari mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch on board while sailing to Edfu. BLD
Day 6. Sail to Kom Ombo. A "caleche" ride will take you through the town to the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Lunch on board while sailing to Kom Ombo. BLD
Day 7. Sail to Aswan. In the morning, visit Kom Ombo?s Greco-Roman style Temple of Sobek, the Crocodile God. Standing serenely on a hilltop, the site offers an incredible view of the Nile. Lunch on board while sailing to Aswan. In the afternoon enjoy a ?Felucca? ride around the islands of Aswan. BLD
Day 8. Aswan to Cairo. Disembark after breakfast and continue sightseeing of Aswan. Visit the High and Old Dams, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo and transfer to your hotel. Sheraton (M) / Zoser (F) / Grand Hyatt (D) B
Day 9. Depart Cairo. At leisure until you are transferred to the airport for you onward flight. B Highly recommended is an optional visit to the Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. Ask for details.
