Day 1
Meet in Dijon and transfer to 'Amaryllis,' moored at the city's Port du Canal. Gather for a champagne reception, followed by a gourmet welcome dinner on board. 'Amaryllis' Barge D
Day 2
After breakfast, cruise the scenic Canal de Bourgogne to Longecourt-en-Plaine. Later, visit Clos de Vougeot, a medieval château surrounded by vineyards and headquarters of the esteemed Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin whose special label is awarded annually to the finest Côte d'Or vintages. Day 3
Return to Dijon for market day and a walking tour past the city's elegant houses. Visit the 17th-century Ducal Palace and the town's famous Grey Poupon mustard shop. After lunch, continue cruising on the Canal de Bourgogne, entering the River Saône before mooring at St-Jean-de-Losne, the barging capital of France. 'Amaryllis' Barge B L D
Day 4
This morning, float through the peaceful valley of the River Saône. Visit Beaune and its Hôtel-Dieu, a 15th-century charity hospital with a magnificently tiled Burgundian roof. Return to 'Amaryllis' for lunch and an afternoon cruise to Chalon-sur-Saône. 'Amaryllis' Barge B L D
Day 5
Cruising upstream, 'Amaryllis' leaves the River Saône and enters the Canal du Centre. There are good opportunities today for walking or cycling on the towpath that lines the barge's route. Visit Château de Rully, an ancient 12th-century fortress that is owned by the Count of Ternay and is still a family home, rejoining the barge at a lovely countryside mooring.'Amaryllis' Barge B L D
Day 6
Today's cruise offers a last opportunity to savor the beauty of the French countryside from the comfort of your floating home. Arrive at the quaint village of St-Léger-sur-Dheune for an excursion to Couches to visit the historic 11th-century Château Marguerite de Bourgogne.
