In 2010, 'Meanderer' will return to the Loire Valley, cruising between Châtillon-sur-Loire and Montargis. Tour magnificent châteaux, visit picturesque villages and take in enchanting vistas - while being pampered by your hosts, George & Susan Kovalick, and their gifted crew. Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Meet at the Paris hotel chosen by the chartering party at 2:00 pm and transfer to 'Meanderer,' moored at Montargis, for a champagne welcome. B
Day 2 :
Cruise to Montcresson this morning with an afternoon excursion to the magnificent Royal residence at Fontainebleau, home to French kings since the 12th century and renowned for its extraordinary Italian Renaissance art and architecture. B,L,D
Day 3 : Return to Montargis today for the week's best opportunity to explore this busy market town, known as the "Venice of Gâtinais" because of its many canals and bridges. (Be sure to visit Mazet, a famous confectionery shop, for a delectable treat!) In the afternoon, cruise to the charming village of Châtillon Coligny. B,L,D
Day 4 : Today, visit the 16th-century Château de St- Fargeau. Then, return to 'Meanderer' for a cruise to Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses where a staircase of seven locks stands as a monument to 16th-century canal engineering. B,L,D
Day 5 : A morning excursion to the pretty town of Gien, set on the banks of the River Loire and famous for its fine earthenware. The town's château dates from the 15th century and houses the Museum of Hunting and Falconry. Then, cruise to Ouzouer-sur-Trézée. B,L,D
Day 6 : Visit a family-run vineyard in the heart of the world-famous region of Sancerre today to sample the fabulous wines and cheeses. Today's cruise to Châtillon-sur-Loire crosses the mighty River Loire via Europe's longest aqueduct. Then, enjoy a scrumptious farewell dinner on board. B,L,D
Day 7 : After breakfast, return to Paris where your tour ends at the hotel chosen by the chartering party. B
