Day 1 - Depart Home
Arrive in Rome, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 2 - Rome, Italy
Take the day to settle in, relax and enjoy the heart of the ancient capital. Explore Rome’s modern attractions and wander the many shops, markets, galleries, and cafes along the way. Have dinner at leisure in hotel.

Day 3 - Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
After breakfast in the hotel, we set out to enjoy one of the world's most famous and historic cities. The eternal city, as Rome is sometimes called, promises to dazzle even the most seasoned traveller. After a downtown drive that takes past famed landmarks including the Roman Forum and the Arch of Constantine, we arrive at St. Peter's Square. Its fountains and semicircular colonnades crowned with statues of the saints frame the entrance to the magnificent dome of St. Peter's Basilica.

Day 4 - Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy - embark
We could not leave Rome, without a visit to the Colosseum, where ancient Rome seems so tangible here, in the heart of Gladitorial combat, that lasted until 404 AD. In the afternoon, we make the trip to the port in Civitavecchia and board our luxury vessel that is to be our home for the next twenty days.

Day 5 - Florence (Livorno), Italy
Our walking tour pauses at the Piazza del Duomo to survey the superb cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The fourth largest church in the world, the Duomo was consecrated in 1436. Fillipo Brunelleschi, master architect of the Italian Renaissance, designed the cathedral's green and white marble faiade and magnificent dome. The piazza is also home to the Baptistery, a unique octagonal building with gilded bronze doors. The east doors depict scenes from the Old Testament and are referred to as the "Gates of Paradise." Indulge in delightful lunch with wine at a restaurant in Florence. We continue our journey to Church of Santa Croce where Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo are buried. This large Franciscan church which boasts one of the finest art collections in the city. The chapels adjacent to the altar are decorated with Giotto's frescoes of St. Francis and St. John. Santa Croce also possesses Donatello's eloquent "Annunciation."

Day 6 - Cannes, France
After leisurely breakfast, a day starts off boarding our motorcoach for the narrated drive to the Exotic Gardens in Monaco. As we approach Monte Carlo, view the city's many luxury villas set against the hillside overlooking the Mediterranean. After our visit of Old Monaco, we see the Casino, Monte Carlo's crown jewel. Charles Garnier, who designed the Paris Opera House, designed the casino in 1878. Marvel at its extravagant exterior and take a quick peek at the interior lobby entrance.

Day 7-8 - Barcelona, Spain / At Sea
Today we arrive at the port of Barcelona, the very place that Columbus set sail from, bound for the Americas. Here in the capital and cultural hub of Spain's Catalonia region, we immerse ourselves in the genius of two of the 20th century's greatest artistic minds, Pablo Picasso and Antonio Gaudi. We begin at the Picasso Museum. Here in Barcelona, Picasso began his career as a struggling art student. This museum honours his legacy with a marvelous collection of his paintings, drawings, engravings and ceramics. We then move on to Las Ramblas, locally known as Casa Mila, the great Spanish architect Gaudi's most accomplished, completed work. We'll marvel at the ornate facade with its undulating walls and iron art nouveau balconies. A panoramic view of Barcelona can be seen from the top of La Pedrera, along with the buildings imaginative chimneys. We return to our ship in the afternoon.

Day 9 - Gibraltar
After breakfast, board our minicoach for a scenic drive which takes in the World War II runway built with rocks from tunnels bored during the Great Siege, Princess Caroline's Battery, and the remains of an ancient Moorish castle. It starts at Hays Level, at the entrance to the northern defences sector, be introduced to the tunnels by way of a static exhibition featuring historic photographs and a complete tunnel map. we continue on to view the accommodation facilities; the various cave formations, and the stunning views from Jocks Balcony. Following your visit to the tunnels, the tour concludes at the ship.

Day 10 - Casablanca, Morocco
In one of Morocco’s most fascinating cities, with its big, lively boulevards, and high, white, well-kept buildings, we tour the Hassan ll Mosque. It is contemporary technology and traditional Moroccan architecture meet in this vast mosque that can accommodate 25,000 worshippers in its interior and another 85,000 worshippers outside on its esplanade. Built at the sea's edge, the mosque boasts the world's tallest minaret, stretching 650 feet in height. We move on to Mohammed V Square, Casablanca's administrative centre surrounds this vast square featuring a large Moorish fountain and gardens. Take time for some shopping, then return to our ship.

Day 13 - Dakar, Senegal
We start off a short panoramic tour of the heart of the old colonial city, Dakar. View the colonial-era town hall and the railway station with the adjacent statue of Senegalese and French soldiers, before touring the modern business district, where you see Independence Square, the cathedral, the Great Mosque and the modern university. Before returning to the pier, pass several districts in Dakar which illustrate the contrast between different areas of the city including the modern villas of Senegalese architecture and the popular traditional Medina - so colourful and alive.

Day 17 - Fortaleza, Brazil
Enjoy the morning exploring Brazil's fifth largest city. Visit Fortaleza Cathedral. Restored in 1978, the Neo-Gothic cathedral stands adjacent to the city's Central Market and boasts a superb collection of stained glass windows. This afternoon, we tour a beautiful Art Noveau theatre in the central plaza, and browse the city's bustling Central market. The Market boasts exotic tropical fruits and produce as well as superb handicrafts.

Day 20/21 - Devil's Island, French Guiana / At Sea
Today we land on a small rocky islet and former French penal colony. Devils Island is the smallest and southernmost of the Iles du Salut in the Caribbean Sea off of French Guiana. Reportedly due to its impenetrable jungle, very few convicts ever managed to escape. Relish the history and stark beauty of this tropical port.

Day 22/23-24 - Dominica / At sea
A day starts off board our air-conditioned transportation at the pier for the short drive to Trafalgar Falls as our guide points out sights of interest. Set out on an approximately 15-minute walk to view one of the Caribbean's most picturesque waterfalls. These twin falls cascade into a deep pool and are surrounded by forest, lush ferns, and tropical foliage. Afterwards, enjoy a refreshing beverage at Papilotte Wilderness Retreat overlooking the rugged Roseau Valley, then, drive to the Botanical Gardens for a tour of the grounds. The garden features many of the exotic species of flora and fauna indigenous to the island, including endangered sisserou and jacquot parrots.
