Itinerary
Day 01 - Tiputa The Haumana team will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your awaiting floating home. After check-in (from 1:30pm), you can enjoy a snorkeling tour in Rangiroa’s natural aquarium, where myriads of tropical fish will dance around you in a colorful ballet. At the end of the day, stroll along Tiputa village’s main road and discover the way of life of the locals, the “paumotu,” and the true flavor of this remote atoll where time seems to have stop. Your guide will point out the varieties of flowers and trees growing beautifully in private gardens. As you get to the far end of the village, you may try to spot the dolphins playing in the pass, in the magical light of sunset. Pre-dinner cocktail hour will be the occasion to meet the Haumana team as they introduce themselves and welcome you with beautiful Polynesian melodies. Presentation of the next day’s program and dinner will follow. The Haumana will depart during the night.
Day 02 - Shells Islet / Pink Sand Islet / Birds’ Islet Visit a local family on their private “motu,” the Shells Islet, and discover their way of life, away from civilization. This family is one of the only ones still digging Rangiroa’s hostile grounds to find those very precious orange shells used in the islands to make the beautiful shells necklaces. Snorkel in this pristine lagoon before returning to the yacht for lunch. In the afternoon, head towards the Pink Sand Islet, a long strip of pink sand floating above a crystal-clear lagoon. Participate in a shark feeding adventure or relax on the beach. Enjoy the luxury of a floating bar, surrounded by this paradise scenery. On the way back to the yacht, stop by the Birds’ Islet, a natural bird sanctuary nestled in Rangiroa’s vast lagoon. Dinner will be served under the stars on Motu Hauone, to the sounds of ukuleles.
Day 03 - Motu Teu & Surroundings Start the day snorkeling at Motu Teu. Enjoy lunch in one of the most amazing open air restaurant with your feet dangling in the water. In the afternoon, kayak, fish, snorkel, take a romantic walk around the islet or just relax on the beach, immersed in the island’s pristine beauty. Before dinner, the Haumana crew will teach you how to tie a pareo, a colorful wrap-around typical from the Polynesian islands.
Day 04 - Otepipi & Mauahatea Step back in time as you visit the ancient village of Otepipi, which once was one of the main villages in Rangiroa. A beautiful church remains and is still in use nowadays for pilgrimages. Cross the islet through a Polynesian jungle to reach an immaculate white sand beach and an infinite reef. For those in search of little souvenirs to bring back, you will find wonderful treasures brought to the shores by the ocean’s waves. Shells, sea urchin picks, corals... After lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure on Motu Mauahatea. Kayak, fish or walk along a gorgeous white sand beach. Discover Rangiroa’s interesting landscape of “feo,” fossilized coral formations sculpted by time. From the virgin beaches to this forest of rocks, enter Rangiroa’s lunar landscape and take a refreshing dip in one of the natural spa pools. At the end of the day, the Haumana will head back towards the Avatoru base.
Day 05 - Avatoru / Farewell Today, it will be time to say farewell to the magic of Rangiroa and end your “paumotu” dream…
