Sailing has a very long tradition in French Polynesia. In keeping with the revered sailing heritage, "Star Flyer" will make its home year-round in Tahiti, voyaging throughout the legendary Society Islands and the remote Tuamotu atolls.

The “Star Flyer” is a true clipper ship, yet modern in every way, created for comfort-loving passengers who also love the traditions and romance of the legendary era of sailing ships.

Life aboard the 360-foot vessel is blissfully relaxed and much like traveling on a private yacht. The ship carries 170 guests, and all cabins are air-conditioned, featuring twin or queen beds, marble bathrooms, hair dryer, safe, TV, DVD player and telephone.

Society Islands -- 7 Nights

After embarking from Tahiti late Sunday evening, you'll make landfalls on Huahine, Raiatea, Taha'a, Bora Bora and Moorea. Each of these islands has a distinct personality.

On Huahine, look for blue-eyed eels and explore ancient maraes where human sacrifices took place. Venture up the jungle-clad shores of the Faaroa River on Raiatea and imagine being transported to the time of an 18th century explorer. Just a short sail away is the island of Taha'a, site of vanilla plantations and pearl farms. Gaze in wonder at the chiseled peak of Mt. Otemanu on Bora Bora, surrounded by the most beautiful lagoon of all. On Moorea, you'll anchor both in Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay, so you'll have many opportunities to savor every glorious view of this spectacular island.

Tuamotu Atolls -- 10 & 11 Nights

This cruise includes an exploration of the Society Islands and the remote Tuamotu Archipelago, low-lying coral atolls scattered among palm-topped motus on a languid sea, more than 150 miles from bustling Papeete.

On Fakarava, the Garuae Pass' 150-foot visibility offers incredible encounters with enormous schools of dolphins, rays, sharks and rainbows of reef fish. In Rangiroa's lagoon, the frilly-shelled Pinctada margaritifera oyster produces lustrous black pearls of astonishing size.
