Quinta Real Hotel Dining

The culinary choices at Quinta Real Acapulco are as unique as the resort itself. Guests may opt to dine in the privacy of their room, in either the open-air or air-conditioned comfort of the Gourmet Restaurant, or by the water’s edge, softly lit by torche.

Restaurants

Beach Club Restaurant

Guests lounge around the pool or on the beach on pristine white umbrella shaded deck chairs sipping a refreshing mango or cucumber daiquiri. Seafood, naturally, is king. Favorite dishes include the traditional Acapulco-style ceviche, a marinated fish cocktail imported from Peru during the 16th century sea trade, or the Quinta Real variety, ceviche Revolcadero, prepared with shrimp and scallops and served on a sea shell.

Gourmet Restaurant

Mexican and international haute cuisine served in an elegant hilltop restaurant. The chef creatively blends ingredients from points as distant as the Caspian Sea and the Pacific Ocean, and the menu offers specialties from all of the Quinta Real hotels. A breakfast favorite is huevos revolcaderos, fried eggs served over a tortilla and bathed in a subtly spiced molcajete sauce.

Bar

Lobby Bar

A more refined setting for evening cocktails with leather chairs, flickering candles and live music friday and saturday. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Acapulco’s heyday. Service is indoors or on a veranda overlooking the cliff and beach.

A comprehensive range of water sports is available at the hotel and the concierge will be happy to make arrangement for tours or for guests to play at the excellent golf and tennis facilities that are located nearby. 

Just down the beach from Quinta Real Acapulco, guests can rent horses for a canter along the shore and, adjacent to the hotel, Shotover Jet offers thrilling jet boat rides that combine nature and adventure. These tours take place in the mangrove lagoons of Acapulco where the first Tarzan movies were filmed.

Golf

Quinta Real guests have access to the spectacular 18-hole golf course at the Mayan Palace, located in upscale Punta Diamante. Enjoy spectacular vistas of the Pacific Ocean while you test your skills on the fairways and greens, surrounded by graceful palms and refreshed by the gentle sea breeze.

Attractions

Famed for its spectacular bay, miles of golden sand beaches and legendary nightlife, Acapulco has a lot to offer visitors willing to tear themselves away from the hotel. There’s sport fishing, golf (Acapulco now has four professional golf courses and a nine-hole municipal course), water skiing (bay or lagoon) and bay cruises. Two must sees are the famous Cliff Divers and the History Museum at the San Diego Fort, which was built in the 17th century to defend the port from pirates.

Seeing the City

Whether you approach Acapulco by air, land or sea, the first breathtaking view is the bay, stunning by day and spectacular by night, when the lights flicker like diamonds, their sparkle reflected over and over again in the black waters.

Beaches

Many of the beaches have chaises where you can relax with a refreshing drink, or tables where you can get something to eat.

Other Sights

Bay cruises. Several yachts and catamarans cruise around Acapulco Bay, Puerto Marqués and La Quebrada. Glass-bottom boats leave from Caleta all day long, passing over the under-water Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Acapulco for Children

Acapulco is a very attractive destination for the youngest members of the family. In addition to the sea and sand, there is much more to keep them occupied.

Sports

Acapulco’s waters, which are perfect for a full range of water sports (water skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving and snorkeling, wind surfing, bananas, boating and more), are also ripe territory for pompano, bonito, barracuda, yellowtail, sailfish and red snapper. For those who prefer their activities on terra firma, there are four championship golf courses in the Acapulco Diamante area and a nine-hole municipal golf course next to the convention center on the Costera.

Shopping

One of the most popular activities in Acapulco is shopping. Most of the shops along the Costera Miguel Aleman display silver and resort and sports clothes, while the markets carry a wide range of Mexican crafts and souvenirs. There are also several malls where you can shop in air-conditioned comfort.

Nightclubs and Nightlife

Acapulco really gets going after dark. Bars, discos and nightclubs line the Costera Miguel Aleman and the Carretera Escénica (the road that goes to the airport). Many feature extraordinary views of Acapulco Bay by night. Several of the boat outfits offer starlight cruises with open bar, music and dancing.
