What to expect:
Of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo–the towns that put the tip of Baja on the coveted-travel map—this resort is in the quieter San Jose. The Sierra de San Lazaro Mountains provide a backdrop to the resort's low-rise, earth-colored adobe buildings on a white-sand beach on the Sea of Cortez. The resort serves both couples and families with daily recreation activities. Swimming off the beach is not recommended due to strong undertow.

Amenity highlights:
Besides a recreational focus that includes water aerobics; bicycle tours; tennis lessons and three swimming pools (including an adults-only pool shaped like a quarter-moon, and a family pool with rousing volleyball matches next to the swim-up bar), this resort prides itself on dining options. This 395-room, adobe-colored resort makes a dramatic architectural statement with its horizontal lines. Cactus gardens grace spacious grounds. Resort facilities include a supervised children's club, a 24-hour fitness center, and a small, 24-hour business center with an Internet-connected computer. Due to strong undertow, swimming off the beach is not recommended. Also offered by this resort are picnic box lunches (surcharge). A shuttle (surcharge) to San Jose del Cabo (1 mile away) and Cabo San Lucas (20 miles away), can be arranged.

In addition to bicycles available for organized bicycle tours, guests can play beach and pool volleyball (an activity that grows more spirited near the swim-up bar as the sun sets), and even ping pong and bingo are offered.
