What to Expect: The Mediterranean style seen in this resort's white exteriors, arches, and columned pathways also incorporates Mexican touches such as stenciled accents, ochre walls, and rattan seating. Water is no more than a few steps away, whether it's the sea, swimming pools, or the numerous fountains that line the walkways. Adding to the relaxed ambience is the uncrowded feel, even when the resort is full.

Amenity Highlights: Water encircles the two-story round spa, allowing guests to swim in. Of the 14 treatment rooms, six have ocean views, including four for couples' treatments. The menu includes a marine treatment circuit incorporating high-pressure hoses and a stone walk, a lily wrap, and a green coffee treatment. A traditional temazcal, or Mexican steam bath, takes place in a brick-lined hut. Surcharges apply for spa and beauty products, treatments, and services.

Insider Tip: Guests wishing to explore the surrounding area can venture out to Playa del Carmen, located 32 km (20 mi) south of the resort. This lively seaside town offers an array of shops, bars, and restaurants ranging from taco stands to fine dining.

Property Amenities

This adults-only resort is set on a white-sand beach along Mexico's Riviera Maya. Six swimming pools (two of them heated in cooler months) wind through the grounds, incorporating three spa tubs with ocean views; two separate spa tubs are found by the spa and the swim-up bar. The fitness center offers strength-training and cardio equipment, including treadmills, stationary bicycles, and stair machines. A fitness trail used by walkers, joggers, and bicyclists encircles the resort and passes by neighboring wetlands, offering glimpses of tropical birds, turtles, and even crocodiles. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in the lobby for guests with personal laptops, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge) is provided at computers in the business center.
