General Information

What to expect: A short bumpy drive off the main road, this small seaside resort blends into the surrounding jungle and is constructed with materials native to the region. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the grounds and at night, torches illuminate the walkways, giving the resort a decidedly romantic appeal. With just the right blend of traditional design and modern conveniences and luxuries, the hotel is a great place for couples looking to escape, as well as be pampered.

Amenity highlights: The resort is styled after a Mayan community, featuring thatched-roof huts. The spa offers a range of traditional Mayan-inspired treatments. One of these, the temazcal Mayan steam bath, is a traditional therapy, involving a stone hut, local herbs, and massage, designed to purify the body and open the mind.

Insider tip: The reef directly in front of the hotel is ideal for snorkeling and viewing tropical fish. Guests are given new snorkels to use and then take home. Masks are available for use at the activities desk.

Presidential Villa - This two-story villa with private pool, beautifully decorated by a Mexican artist, overlooks the Island of Cozumel with views of the turquoise Caribbean. Beds have Egyptian cotton sheets, duvets, and down pillows. Lower terrace features oversized swimming pool and spa tub with a connecting bridge to the beach. Second terrace offers views of Cozumel from a crochet hammock or chaise lounge. Separate living room, dining area and gues bathroom. Spiral wooden staircase to bedroom on second floor. Satellite TV, air-conditioning, DVD/CD player, personal bar, hair dryer. Bathroom has dual sinks, walk-in shower and deluxe toiletries.

Luxury Villa w/Private Pool - This luxurious villa is a traditional Mayan palapa with a private pool on its furnished terrace, surrounded by gardens. Large hammock. Beds have Egyptian cotton sheets, duvets, and down pillows. Satellite TV, air conditioning, DVD/CD player, personal bar, in-room safe, hair dryer. Bathroom features dual sinks, walk-in shower, deluxe toiletries.

Guests of the hotel enjoy complimentary coffee and pastries delivered to their room each morning.

Azul - Open from early morning to late night, the hotel's restaurant features Mexican-infused Mediterranean cuisine, including seafood, fresh pastries, and daily specials. Diners enjoy a first-story air-conditioned dining room next to the pool and a second-story open-air palapa-covered terrace, with a view of the ocean. The restaurant has an extensive wine menu, featuring French, Italian, and Spanish selections.
