What to expect:
This resort is set on 29 hectares (71 acres) of lush, tropical gardens bordered by a white-sand beach. Guests are welcomed to the grand lobby with a cool towel and glass of champagne, setting the tone for a pampering stay. The resort is popular with leisure travelers and groups seeking an adults-only environment, with plenty of services and a wide variety of activities to enjoy.
Amenity highlights:
Set on a 305-meter (1,000-foot) beach, the resort has an outdoor freeform pool (heated during winter) with swim-up bar, a fitness room, and tennis courts. Guests can plan kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, and snorkeling outings at the water sports center. The resort's spa includes a fitness center open to all guests. It also offers a range of other amenities and services including saunas, steam rooms, spa tubs, hydrotherapy, massage, facials, and nail treatments (surcharges).
Insider tip:
Three km (two miles) away, the Tres Rios ecological park (surcharge) features a shallow cove for ocean snorkeling, plus beaches, horseback riding, scuba diving, and a variety of nature tours. Guests can schedule their park visit through the hotel tour desk or pay at the entrance.

The resort's water sports center offers activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, sailing, and windsurfing. A fitness center has a range of cardio machines, free weights, treadmills, and step machines.
The on-site spa incorporates both outdoor and indoor facilities. Outdoors are a tropical relaxation garden, spa tub of mineral water with waterfalls and, under a thatched-roof palapa , a double treatment room fronting the ocean. Indoors are private Vichy and Swiss showers, spa tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and six treatment rooms including two rooms for couples. A menu of 30 restorative treatments and hydrotherapies, including massage, facials, manicures, and pedicures, is offered (surcharges for all treatments and services).
The resort has 624 square meters (6,714 square feet) of multiple-use meeting space, including a ballroom, three executive meeting rooms, breakout areas, and a terrace. One km (0.5 mile) from the resort, the Playacar Golf Club (surcharge) features an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by Robert Von Hagge. The course is carved through the Mayan jungle and includes a driving range and putting green.
