 What to expect: The Quinta Las Acacias occupies a French-style antique home in one of Guanajuato's oldest neighborhoods. Built in the 19th century, the house now has nine guestrooms, with a mix of European sophistication and Mexican charm. Guests use the hotel as a base for exploring the town's museums and historic sites, then return for evening cocktails. No children under 12 are admitted.
Amenity highlights: The hotel has an antique residential feel and features furnishings, wall coverings, and window treatments reminiscent of 19th-century France. Rooms outside the main building are each decorated in the theme of a different Mexican state. In the main area, a computer with Internet access is available for guest use (fee), and the hotel has a small library, with chess set and other table games. A splash pool is set on a terrace in the hotel gardens.
Insider tip: Across the street from the hotel is the Florencio Antillon Park and the La Olla Dam, which was built in the mid-1700s to provide water to the growing colonial town.
