Arts and Crafts
Several places in Huatulco carry craftwork from other parts of the state of Oaxaca, one of which is the Handicrafts Market in the Plaza de la Bahía de Santa Cruz.

Festivals
On May 3, a feast is held in honor of the Santa Cruz, a wooden cross that, legend has it, was driven into the beach before the conquest.

Historical Interest
Travel agencies provide information on tours of the coffee plantations, where 4X4 vehicles take you up an altitude of approximately 1,200 m above sea level. If you want to know more about the growing, picking and processing of this aromatic plant, the best time for visits is between November and March. Coffee tasting included.

La Entrega Beach , Bahía Santa Cruz
Huatulco was the scene of a historical event that was the result of a power struggle in the country after it became independent. In 1831, Vicente Guerrero was captured and taken to this beach aboard the brigantine El Colombo. He was then taken to Oaxaca to be shot .

Golf
The Tangolunda Golf Club, designed by F.M. Schjetnan, is one of the best golf courses in Huatulco. It has 18 holes, par 72, with a course of 6,851 yards. The natural exuberance of the surroundings, the trees, sandbanks, cactuses and small lagoons, make it extraordinarily beautiful.

Camping
Although there are no camping facilitie in Huatulco, you can camp on the beaches in Conejos, Punta Arena and Tejoncito.

Horseback Riding

Going on a horseback or dune buggy ride is a good way to observe the local flora and fauna-much of the forest area is a natural reserve-or some of the bays that are slightly further afield where you can stop for a swim in the crystal-clear waters. Another attraction are the Río Copalita rapids.
