Luxury All-Inclusive low-rise beachfront inside mega-resort – Built in contemporary hacienda style, with red and orange masonry and smooth arches, these two virtually identical hotels are located within the Barceló Mayan Riviera resort complex. Well-landscaped grounds are adorned with shallow fountains, palm trees, and lush tropical foliage, and the property is surrounded by more than 120 acres of rainforest.

Accommodations: All of the standard rooms, junior suites, standard suites, and master suites feature a terrace or balcony with either a hammock or patio furnishings. Guests have the choice of 1 king or 2 double beds. Amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, phone, in-room safe, a mini-bar (stocked daily), bathrobes, hairdryer, and iron/ironing boards. Connecting rooms are available on request. Elevators and specially-equipped rooms are available for guests in wheelchairs.

Dining & Entertainment: The 2 buffet restaurants are open for all meals, and offer guests a relaxed atmosphere where they can eat till their hearts, and stomachs, are content. There are also 4 options for a la carte evening dining. Bali-Hai specializes in Oriental dishes, Mare Nostrum offers a seafood menu, Carpi serves Italian/Mediterranean Cuisine, and Santa Fe is steakhouse-style restaurant. All require reservations as well as a semi-formal dress code. Palameras and Mariachi are beachside spots that serve lunch, snacks, and informal meals. Drinks are available at all restaurants, and 6 bars, including 2 swim-up bars. The Kukulcan Theater seats 1,200 and hosts live shows nightly, and a disco provides a venue for the after-dark social scene.

Recreation: The private white-sand beach extends over a mile, and is arguably the best on the Riviera. Chaise lounges dot the sand. The 3 swimming pools include a Jacuzzi and a designated kids' area. On land athletics include 7 lighted tennis courts, archery, a fitness center, mini-golf, volleyball, and basketball. Kayaking, waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and water polo are among the water sport options. The spa offers an indulging menu of treatments and beauty services in addition to saunas, steam baths, and whirlpools. Parents get alone time thanks to baby-sitting services and a kid's club that provides a safe, structured environment for children 4-12 years of age. Off-site excursions include horseback riding, ATV safaris, dolphin encounters, and trips to the archaeological ruins at Tulum.
