Located in the exclusive gated resort community of Playacar (35 minutes south of the Cancun airport), Hacienda Uxmal is an exquisite hideaway for only the most discriminating guests. The sun-drenched ambiance is reflected through the simple yet elegant architecture of the Spanish Colonial design by architect Angel Eslea. Interiors were designed by the owner, renowned Connecticut interior decorator, Carol Whitley.
Four bedrooms and a master suite sleep a total of 11 guests. Four and a half bathrooms, some with double sinks, a sky-lit tub and showers, are each enhanced with hand-made blue and white tiles. Each upstairs bedroom has its own balcony. The Hacienda is fully air conditioned with individual room controls and is perfectly situated on the 13th hole of the beautiful and challenging Robert Von Hagge Golf Course. Only a short walk away is the ferry boat to Cozumel and Playa’s famed "La Quinta" (5th Ave). The pedestrian street is lined with many shops and international cafes. La Quinta comes alive at night with strolling musicians and lively international conversations. But the best of Playa is the miles of silky white beaches kissed by the sparkling turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean. The friendly atmosphere of Hacienda Uxmal, its romantic nights, myriad of daytime activities and its location in the heart of the Riviera Maya, make it the perfect place to spend your vacation. The 2nd floor includes a master suite with dressing area, sky-lit bath, king bed and private balcony. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and balcony. The 3rd bedroom (children's room) has two twin beds and two built-in bunk beds. Included in the children's room is a TV with DVD player and a selection of children's movies. Hotel Hacienda Uxmal Restaurants Karen’s...fun, good Mexican food, 2-for-1 drinks all the time...good live music at night...sit as close to 5th Ave. as possible...good people watching! On 5th ave. between 2nd and 4th. La Parilla...very busy...live mariachi band at night...good choice is the kabobs (chicken is our favorite) and fajitas...margaritas are large and good! On the corner of 5th Ave. and 8th. Casa Mediterranea...our favorite Italian restaurant, newly relocated to 5th Ave. Everything is good...food, service and wine. The bruscetta is delicious. If you want anything special, just ask...if possible they will make it for you. End the meal with their delicious Tiramisu. On 5th Ave. between 6th and 8th.
La Mananitas...delicious food, good for breakfast as well. On 5th Ave. between 4th and 6th. Media Luna...this has quickly become one of our favorites. Excellent pasta choices and the bread is to die for...and made locally. 5th Ave between 12th and 14th. Hemingway...a delightful restaurant under a large tree lit by electrified fishing baskets. 5th Ave between 12th and 14th Da Vino...A very upscale restaurant with excellent food (owned by The Glass Bar). Peek upstairs at the hotel Deseo It is rated as one of the best small hotels in Mexico. Have a late night cap by the pool deck and mingle with all the "beautiful" people of Playa...5th Ave. at 12th The Glass Bar...Located right across the street from Da Vino, this upscale restaurant is wonderful with one of the BEST wine lists in Playa...5th at 12th. Sur...A great steak house. ...5th Ave. right before 14th on Calle Corzone...Check out the very nice shoppes on this "new" avenue. Cafe Sasta... This coffee bar is one of our favorites for after dinner cappuccino and tiramisu. All the above restaurants are located right on 5th Ave. Just a little off 5th...
Yaxche...Mayan cuisine in a lovely setting. Calle 8 just off Fifth. Byblos...definitely one of our favorite restaurants. The most upscale of the Playa restaurants. But still quite reasonable by U.S. standards. This is the owner's third restaurant in Playa and absolutely the "best". French cuisine..Calle 14 Johnny Greys...On Calle Corzone, this restaurant has great food and wonderful service. Grey is a former Ritz-Carlton chef who has worked at a number of the group's properties. Check out the crab and corn chowder...a winner! Calle Corzone is off Fifth right before 14th. El Oasis...this little hole in the wall is one of our favorites for lunch or a light dinner. The only thing I have every ordered are the shrimp tacos. SIMPLY DELICIOUS!! 12th between 5th and 10th. Alux (The Cave)...this is a must see!!! Go for drinks only (we hear the food is not so good) This is in a large natural cenote and is quite impressive. Words cannot describe this place...you must go and see for yourself. The left side of Juarez on the other side of the highway. La Cueva del Chango...is one of Playa's best kept secrets. A perfect place to start the day. We love it for breakfast but they also do lunch and dinner. The juice is freshly made in many variations. Homemade breads and freshly made salsas, the coffee is roasted in house, even the tortillas are made "en casa"...38th Ave. (on the way to Coco Beach) between 5th Ave. and the beach. El Pescado..this quiet little Italian restaurant on the north side of Constituyentes on 10th is owned by two sisters and has wonderful seafood dishes. All the pasta is homemade. The open kitchen allows diners to watch their meals being prepared. Viva Cafe...an Italian restaurant that many Italians enjoy, so it must be good! The two-level establishment is very chic, and the food is delicious. On 12th, near the Blue Parrot. Check out the bars on either side. La B del M...This famous bar and restaurant originated in Cuba. Good music and food. In the Paseo del Carmen shopping center. Babe's...A local favorite. Calle 10 between 5th and 10th. The Spa at Playacar Golf Course...wonderful new spa with many treatment options. The Spa at Vida Real...A must to check out. In the neighborhood of Pakal within Playacar. (Ask our house manager for directions...an easy walk) A beautiful facility with every kind of treatment available. Look in our information book in the back pocket for additional information. Golf The Golf Club at Playacar is an all-inclusive course. Enjoy lunch, drinks and cart which are included in your fee. With our Playacar resident card, our guests You can use a chair in front of many of the hotels for little or no money as long as you eat and drink in their restaurant. Just roam the beach and pick the best spot and ask about their services. Playa Tukan or Manita's Beach Clubs... A great place to spend your beach days. With restaurant, bar, pool, bathrooms, massage and dive shop, you have The Reef Club is an all-inclusive hotel within Playacar. We, as residents, have guest privileges. From 9am to 6pm adults $30, children $15...this is an all-inclusive hotel. To use the pool and beach without eating and drinking there's no charge. At high season when the hotel is fully booked there might be a "first come policy" for residents. Ask Chema about the card. Please do not lose this card, as there will be a $200 charge for replacement deducted from your security deposit. The Fisherman's Village Beach Club...This is a new beach club which is located in Phase 1 of Playacar. As you drive into Phase 1, it will be on your left. It is located before you get to the hotel Fisherman's Village. Lovely beach. The cost is 250 pesos for the day...all inclusive. Enjoy a chaise lounge, many drinks, lunch and use of their kakyaks. Showers and bathrooms available. They will discount for more than 8 people. Children are 1/2 price. Be sure to take your Playacar Card.

Double height ceilings, rough-sewn wood beams, skylights and custom Talavera tiles add to the home's unique style. A Mayan waterfall spills into the sparkling swimming pools reflecting a lush landscape of tropical plants and palms. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen awaits the amateur chef. The large living room has a 18-foot wrap around sofa, 2 large rattan arm chairs and antique coffee table. The center piece of the dining room is a massive 9-foot mahogany table and 8 rattan arm chairs to encourage hours of dining pleasure. All the main rooms spill out onto the terra cotta tiled terrace and the pools beyond.
The 1st floor has 2 bedrooms each with private bath. One with a single twin bed and one with 2 twins.
La Casa del Agua...Lovely decor and a great place to people watch. One of our favorite places. The couple who own it are charming and wonderful hosts. It was voted one of the best small restaurants in Mexico by Travel and Leisure magazine. On the corner of 5th Ave. and 4th.
Jazmin...This new restaurant is located in the Spa at Vida Real. Located on the third floor, this upscale restaurant offers outstanding views of Playa, the sea, and beyond. The food and service are wonderful. Show the Playacar Resident Card and receive 15% off "la cuenta" (the bill). Located in the Pakal section of Playacar... a short walk from the Hacienda.
