What to Expect: Entering the lobby, guests get their first taste of the Casa Velas' contemporary hacienda-style architecture and character. From the lobby bar terrace, the pool looks cool and inviting and the golf course stretches out beyond. The guests are mostly couples from the U.S. and Mexico, and the resort maintains a tranquil atmosphere.

Amenity Highlights: The 18-hole Marina Vallarta golf course borders the hotel on three sides. Guests may splash around in the pool and spa tub or use jogging and biking trails. The World Class Spa offers massages and other treatments, and the fitness center provides workout equipment and classes. Guests request a complimentary shuttle to get to the hotel's private beach club, which has a seafood restaurant, lounge, and another swimming pool, or to the hotel´s sister resort, Velas Vallarta, where they can enjoy more restaurants, pools, and tennis courts.

Insider Tip: Guests who go fishing can bring their catch back to the resort to be cooked by the hotel chef. The chef can recommend special local dishes that can be prepared with the fish.

Gran Class Suite
Grand Class Suites have either have two double beds or a king size bed. Each suite is 548 sq.ft. with balcony or terrace to enjoy the view. Some rooms have private plunge pool on the terrace or Jacuzzi in the bathroom. All feature individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable color TV with US and Mexican channels, local radio stations, direct dial two lines telephones, marble and Venetian tiled baths with vanities, comfortable light cotton bathrobes and hairdryers in room. The majority of Gran Class Suites are located in the main building on the first through fourth floors. A few are located in villas on the side of the hotel. Those on lower floors have views of the garden while those on higher floors feature golf course views. Handicap accessible.

El Candil features gourmet Mexican and international cuisine, prepared using herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel's own garden. The menu also offers signature dishes from different regions of Mexico. Tables are available in the air-conditioned indoor dining room or alfresco under oversized garden umbrellas on the terrace, with views of the pool, garden, and golf course. Sunday brunch is accompanied by live piano music. Open daily from morning until late evening.

Emiliano
Emiliano features gourmet Mexican and international cuisine, prepared using herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel's own garden. The menu also offers signature dishes from different regions of Mexico. Tables are available in the air-conditioned indoor dining room or alfresco under oversized garden umbrellas on the terrace, with views of the pool, garden, and golf course. Open daily from morning until late evening.

Beach Club
The thatched-roof seaside Beach Club restaurant serves sandwiches, seafood, and light fare with a great view of Banderas Bay and the beach. Located one half-mile from the hotel, on the ocean beach. Open daily from late morning until early evening.

Oasis Lobby Bar
The Lobby Bar, decorated with contemporary tropical furnishings, has seating indoors or outside on the terrace, overlooking the hotel pool. A wide selection of traditional and exotic cocktails is available. Open every evening until late night.
