La Jolla de Mismaloya Resort General Information
 What to expect: Popular with celebrating couples and active families, the blossom-draped resort is bordered on the south side by a river where fishing families living on the mountainside moor their boats. On the beach south of the river is a row of open-air cantinas. Scuba divers and snorkelers enjoy the proximity to the giant offshore rocks and arches comprising Los Arcos National Park 1.75 km (1 mi) away.
Amenity highlights: Two lagoon-style pools lie at the resort's center, one for adults that contains a waterfall arch and a rock-garden island sheltering a 10-person spa tub and the other for families that is bordered by rock waterfalls and contains a swim-up bar. In addition, there's a free-form children's pool featuring a short waterslide, a sports pool, and a 12-person family spa tub. Mismaloya Beach extends 100 meters (109 yds) along the cove fronting the resort.
Insider tip: A 1.75-km (1-mi) jogging path offering spectacular ocean views extends along a mountainside past the two Night of the Iguana restaurants.

John Huston's Restaurant - This small open-air place is perched on a rugged mountain at the mouth of Mismaloya cove and offers panoramic views of the scuba-diving/snorkeling rocks-and-arches called Los Arcos, the ocean, the mountains, and sunsets. Night of the Iguana director John Huston slept in a simple house on the site, and ruins of peasant houses constructed for the film surround the restaurant. The resort provides complimentary shuttle service or diners can walk here in 10 minutes along a broad path along the mountain over the water. Open for lunch and dinner.
The Sets of the Night of the Iguana Restaurant - On another rugged site adjacent to John Huston's Restaurant, this open-air restaurant occupies a reconstruction of the hotel featured in the film. Built of rustic brick-and-stone, the restaurant features Mexican food, white table linens, photos of the movie's filming, and panoramic views. The resort provides complimentary shuttle service or diners can walk here in 10 minutes along a broad path along the mountain over the water. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Two lagoon-style pools lie at the resort's center. A 30.5-meter-long (100-ft) adult pool contains a waterfall arch and a rock-garden island sheltering a 10-person spa tub. A 50.25-meter-long (165-ft) family pool bordered by rock waterfalls contains a swim-up bar. Adjacent to this pool are a 13.75-meter (45-ft) free-form children's pool featuring a short waterslide, a 16.75-by-6.75-meter (55-by-22-ft) sports pool, and a 12-person spa tub.
Famed for the rocky arms covered with jungle that extend into the sea and define it, Mismaloya Beach extends 100 meters (109 yds) along the cove fronting the resort. Snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and kayaks are provided to All-Inclusive Plan guests, while European Plan guests must rent them. For surcharges, independent operators on the beach offer banana-boating rides, parasailing flights, personal watercraft, and fishing trips.
An introductory scuba-diving lesson is complimentary. Scuba-diving instruction can be booked at the resort as well as scuba-diving/snorkeling excursions to the giant offshore rocks and arches that comprise Los Arcos National Park 1.75 km (1 mi) from the resort. Other recreational opportunities include bicycles and tours (surcharges) and complimentary use of a lighted tennis court.
