The Casa del Mayorazgo de la Canal, in the town center, was the residence of the Count de la Canal in the 18th century. It has now been restored and is an excellent example of the elegant lifestyle of those times.

Casa de Allende This old mansion, which on January 21, 1769 became the birthplace of Don Ignacio Allende y Ungaza, the caudillo of the War of Independence, is located on the corner of Calle Cuna de Allende and Plaza Principal. It is now a museum dedicated to Allende´s life and the history of the town.
Church and monastery of La Concepcion Known as "Las Monjas." Built in 1755 for the daughter of Francisco de la Canal who joined a religious order. The convent is currently occupied by the "El Nigromante" Cultural Center, named after the liberal writer Ignacio Ramírez. Open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm and Sundays from 10 to 2 pm. Parish Church of San Miguel Arcángel Late 17th century construction to which Zeferino Torres, the master stonemason, added a neo-gothic tower in 1880. Open from 5:30 to 9:00 pm.
