discouraging people my age and Cindy's age to stay at the ME are bogus and the other negative reviews referencing the noise coming from Passion Night Club for guest who are staying on the lower floors is bogus as well. We fit right in to the younger crowd without feeling the least concern of our age. We saw others our age anyway. As for the noise, we slept without hearing a sound and we were on the 2nd floor. The music around the pool was enjoyable during the day. When I checked in the hotel I pushed for an upgrade as you and I discussed but they wanted an arm and leg to upgrade so I decided I would take the room we originally were getting but when we got to our room I found a picturesque view over looking the pool and ocean. I told Cindy I was glad we didn't take them up on the upgrade. We walked approximately 4 miles most mornings as exercise. Each walk we
took a different route through the town and marina getting to know what was there. We did find the food to be very pricey in most restaurants around the
marina and hotel but as we got into the later part of the week we had discovered local restaurants where pricing is more reasonable without sacrificing the quality of food. We left Cabo feeling like we got our moneys worth and best of all we
know there is more to Cabo than what we got to experience so it makes it easy for us to plan our next vacation 2010 in Cabo. Cindy and I appreciate what you did in helping us choose this vacation. We can't thank you enough. Next year we will be trying to get the family to take in Cabo with us which could be as high as 20 people. We will be in touch. We went to 3 other reservation restaurants and they were great! The resort was too big for us. Not enough pool space for the amount of people. We could have gone to other pools but no ocean access. Sandos Playacar was long and narrow so not a lot of ocean access. Very clean property and kind people. They need more carts for moving around the resort. Jenni, It was really a great trip. We had lots of fun. The hotel was nice, the beach was great, and the food was good. We did a couple of extra outings while there. We went scuba diving one day and then a day long excursion to Coba (ruins, zip line, rappelling, kayaking, Mayan village tour) and had a blast on these outings. I wish we would have had one or two more days to enjoy the beach a little more. Thanks for your recommendation. We had a great time. The Secrets Maroma resort, staff, food, accomodations, etc. were all wonderful! And we got quite the treatment, since you had booked us as an anniversary package in order to get the spa coupon (they upgraded our room, hung an anniversary sign on our door, left us chilled champagne and a champagne breakfast in bed - it was actually very funny, but great).
Few little glitchy things based likely on newness, but i would totally recommend it to others.
In any event, thanks for all your help. It was a great trip.

Palm trees, green hills, steep rocky shorelines. Small shops line the streets, many shops appeared to have the same items, cotton shirts, sombreros, the ubiquitos jewellery shops...I did buy a mexican fire opal pendant (in Acapulco)....restaurants, pay for banos, what I liked was that the locals outnumbered the tourists on the beaches...apparently it is custom for families to hit the beaches on Boxing day, I didn't see any litter on the streets, no spray paint graffitti, the sidewalks were uneven and some storefronts seemed to have made their own patterned sidewalk so one had to watch where you were stepping.
One of our tour guides was explaining that the school children all wear uniforms and if they talk bad to the teacher they are sent home, three times and you have to repeat your grade...this makes for respectful children and you can see it on the streets in the lack of grafitti and litter. The vendors of course had to come visit while we were having a cold cervesa but I did not find them overly aggressive nor rude. I did notice that the quality of the mexican cotton clothing did seem to be less and there seemed to be more factory made items than a few years ago....too bad.

I meant to send you an email yesterday, after we returned, but the first day back at work was ridiculously hectic.
The vacation was great - no hitches. The Desire Resort was beautiful, and very relaxing. Staff, grounds, room, and food was A+. Flight was non-eventful, as we like them.
There turned out to be no exit tax at the airport, so that was good as well.

Good morning Jenni, We wish we were still there!!! It was absolutely the most relaxing and best trip we have ever taken. Before this time, the Jamaica Inn trip you sent us on previously was our favorite, with Jamaica Inn having a certain rustic kind of charm and excellent service! However, the Excellence was very modern and fabulous in every way. The spa was elegant and very reasonably priced with an outdoor hydrotherapy area beyond any spa we have seen. The food was just fabulous in every single restaurant...we didn't have a bad bite all week! Our rooftop terrace was huge, and there were outdoor lounge beds on both our main level and rooftop terraces. We laughed at the fact that we had a one-bedroom four-bed suite! There was no waiting for any activities or dining, everything was close enough together that we weren't walking all the time as we have at some larger resorts but still spread out enough to be private. One of our favorite features (although we hardly left our own rooftop) was the private pools for the Excellence Club rooms. I was going to write you today to say THANK YOU! La Casa Que Canta was absolutely perfect and exactly what we had envisioned and hoped for. Our travel was completely uneventful with all flights on time, transfers and check in flawless. Our room was so comfortable and the service was beyond all expectations. We would go back every year. Also, to make it even nicer, there were only 4 other couples in total at the hotel since it was still "low season". We had the pool completely to ourselves and felt like the whole hotel was our private place. We met lovely locals and even took us around for the day. He took us to his friend's house who had just caught a couple pounds of shrimp and we took the shrimp to a local beach restaurant who cooked them up for us. They were delicious with ice cold beers on a hot day.

We had a great time. I must hand it to you on the "all inclusive" package. That was ideal.
Ate any time of the day. Anything from fried eggs to rib eye steaks. They had two buffet
locations. Neither was very busy over the entire week. We drank our fair share of strawberry
daquerries.... The Transfer company were very nice to work with also.
Over all, you took very good car of us. I would recommend the Oasis as a great place to stay.

We liked the Iberostar Quetzal a lot. The Star Friends (activity people) were great to have around, especially for the kids. The resort was nice and the staff was great. We took an all day tour to see the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. That is an amazing place. So thank you once again for selecting a perfect vacation destination. Could you do me a favor? I need to get a photo release form from the El Dorado Royale so that I can have two photographs made into wallet size. Hi Gretchen Well.... we had a wonderful holiday!! I'm not sure how happy we are to be back, especially since we arrived back to a Canadian snowstorm but apparently summer is thinking about starting so hopefully we'll be able to show off our tans soon! Thank you so much for your help and advice during the planning stages! It really made it painless. The El Dorado Maroma was wonderful - quiet, relaxing, great service and yummy food! We stayed in a Hotelito which was lovely - quite small and compact but perfectly big enough for the two of us. We thought about upgrading to one of the Jacuzzi suites but decided not to, but we did see one. They are much bigger and more airy. They're quite modern and therefore a bit cold but nicely decorated. They are still trying out terrace curtain treatments so the place will look a lot better in a few months. There was also a bit of hammering and building noise but it really wasn't enough to disturb. The one thing the hotel is absolutely lacking is a nice evening beachside bar. There is nowhere to have a sundowner except one of the pool bars which is sunken into the ground and you have to kind of sit on the floor..no ideal. I think they're making a lounge bar / pizza place but they need to put something on the beach. The hotel bar was inside, freezing cold and played loud 80's music so wasn't really a popular choice. The diving was great - not stunning - but great, and I got my PADI which was fantastic. The watersports are at the Maroma Marina next to the hotel and are therefore ideally located but unfortunately they are all packaged up, so for example you can do jet skiing but have to go on an awful tourist boat for an hour of snorkeling with 50 other people.. They totally refused to do just one activity which was a bit frustrating. In the end we just did the diving for a few days. I did feed my comments into the hotel, as I know other guests did too. All in all a great time was had by all! Definitely on to recommend particularly as it was such good value. Thank you again. We'll definitely come back to you if we can squeeze in another holiday! We really did enjoy the area and our stay at the Grand Coco Bay was satisfactory. Our kids loved it there, as there was always something to do. It was a very convenient location to downtown and the beach there was fabulous.

including simply relaxing. The trip from the airport was fast, unless of course you fell for the "time share" adventure which I must admit we did! Being in the building/development industry it was interesting for my husband however, not something we would do again! The funny thing was with all of the free give-aways promised, we took nothing as my husband and I did not feel comfortable. They do try to get you at the Grand Mayan as well but once you let them know you are not interested they do leave you alone. We did have to pay for the gym (no biggie)it was $10.00/day. I was glad we had plenty of time between flights as some people missed their connection and did not get back to IN until Friday afternoon. UGH! I must admit going that far from home not knowing what to expect except for what you see on the internet we could not have asked for anything else! I would visit PV again, and I think we had the best resort and the price was definitely not over the top! You did a wonderful job and put up with me for many months in doing so! I'm terribly sorry it took me SOOOOOO long to get back to you, but I did want to share some of our experience. Life has been crazy as a married man and catching up from a 3 week vacation so its taken me a little longer than I would have liked to a point where I can breathe and catch up on old things.
Anyway, we had a lovely trip. Both plane rides were just fine and all of our transportation worked out as we had expected. Our room was great at the El Dorado Royal......ocean view, swim-up bar right outside, our own daybed on the beach, etc. We took 2 excursions to the dolphin experience and the Tulum ruins (which also included a snorkeling trip). Both were a lot of fun and made the trip more interesting. We also spent a night going out in Playa del Carmen - it worked out well that we shared a cab with another couple from Monterey, Mexico. They spoke Spanish on our behalf that night and got us in to places we probably wouldn't have found ourselves. Other than that, we slept and ate ourselves silly which was much needed. As a recommendation for future travelers to our resort, I highly recommend the fruit tempura dessert at Kampai restaurant....by far one of the best desserts I've ever had.
Things were great - people were really nice, weather was fantastic and I would do it again.

My brother, who isn't a good videographer, had control of the camera for some part of the ceremony. We were lucky enough to have a driver who brought us to Magic island take over.
