Yumka ´-meaning forest gnome-is a spacious park with 101 hectares of forest, lagoons and pastureland containing the Nature Interpretive Center . Visiting the park is a memorable experience. The tour begins in a tropical forest full of the magical sounds of the jungle. You will be astonished at all the animals you recognize, from white-tailed deer, scarlet macaws, toucans and monkeys to enormous iguanas. After leaving the forest you cross a hanging bridge over crocodiles and turtles. A van takes you to the pastureland where you can observe fauna from other parts of the world, such as giraffes, zebras and antelopes, all wandering freely. To round off the tour, a boat takes you to the El Pozo lagoon. Yumka ' is just 16 km outside Villahermosa , next to the airport.

Villahermosa Ecotourism Caves
There are several caves hidden away in the thick tropical vegetation in the sierra bordering Chiapas , south and southeast of Villahermosa . The jungle here has many waterfalls and rivers, including the Coconá , Oxolotán and Agua Blanca Rivers that are kept flowing by the heavy rainfall.

This museum-park dedicated to the Olmec culture has many paths wandering through the thick tropical vegetation that includes large ferns, palm trees, and large-leafed evergreen plants.

This picturesque village of red tiled roofs is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery including rivers whose waters are shades of blue and green, such as the Amatán and Oxolotán Rivers .

Villahermosa Ecotourism The Centla Swamp
Many streams traverse this marshland, including the Usamacinta , San Pedro, and San Pablo Rivers . It is part of the 133,595 hectares making up the protected Biosphere Reserve. This Reserve is full mangrove trees, palm trees and bulrushes, and is inhabited by different species of fish, birds, mammals, and amphibians.

Villahermosa Ecotourism The Kolem Jaá Ecological Reserve
Tlacotalpa is a small village of Villahermosa . Only 10 km south of here, you will come across the Kolem Jaá Ecological Reserve that consists of a natural bathing pool with sulfurous waters, dense tropical vegetation and paths that wind among medicinal and other sorts of plants.
