Yumka ´-meaning forest gnome-is a spacious park with 101 hectares of forest, lagoons and pastureland containing the Nature Interpretive Center . Visiting the park is a memorable experience. The tour begins in a tropical forest full of the magical sounds of the jungle. You will be astonished at all the animals you recognize, from white-tailed deer, scarlet macaws, toucans and monkeys to enormous iguanas. After leaving the forest you cross a hanging bridge over crocodiles and turtles. A van takes you to the pastureland where you can observe fauna from other parts of the world, such as giraffes, zebras and antelopes, all wandering freely. To round off the tour, a boat takes you to the El Pozo lagoon. Yumka ' is just 16 km outside Villahermosa , next to the airport.

Only 10 km south of here, you will come across the Kolem Jaá Ecological Reserve that consists of a natural bathing pool with sulfurous waters, dense tropical vegetation and paths that wind among medicinal and other sorts of plants.
