Tour Itinerary
Day 1. (Tue) Arrive Tel Aviv Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv you will be met and assisted by our local representative and transferred to your chosen hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. D
Day 2. Caesarea - Megiddo - Mount Carmel - Haifa - Acre - Tiberias
Drive along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea, the ancient Roman Capital built by Herod the Great in 22 B.C. See the Roman Amphitheater, Aqueduct, and Herodian Port. You will also discover and enjoy the Caesarea Experience, Caesarea's Stars and the Time Tower. Continue via the Valley of Armageddon to Megiddo and visit the remarkable excavations, including the famous well and King Solomon's stables. Proceed to Mt. Carmel and visit the Carmelite Monastery in Muchraka. Drive to Haifa for a panoramic view of the city and bay, and the Bahai Temple and exotic gardens. On to Acre to see the Hospitaller Fortress that contains the Knights' Halls, a Crusader dining room, a dungeon, a Crusader fortress courtyard, and the Templars' tunnel - an underground tunnel crossing the city from east to west and it currently extends for 160 meters. We then drive to Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Tiberias - 2 nights BD
Day 3. Mt. Of Beatitudes - Tabgha - Capernaum - Kursi - Caesarea Philippi. Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, then view the fishermen's boat dated to Jesus time. Visit the Mt. Of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on The Mount, then travel to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. Proceed to Capernaum, the city of Jesus and Peter, and visit the 2nd century synagogue. On to Kursi, site of the Miracle of Demons and Swine, and Caesarea Philippi, and return to Tiberias. After dinner you will enjoy the Galilee Experience - a presentation of 4,000 years of Galilee history. BD
Day 4. Yardenit - Cana - Nazareth - Beit Shean - Jerusalem. Start the day with a visit to Yardenit, the Baptismal center on the Jordan River. Drive to Cana of Galilee to see the Church of The First Miracle. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of The Annunciation and Mary's Well. Visit the Nazareth Village, a place that brings to life a farm and Galilee village, recreating Nazareth as it was 2000 years ago. Continue to Beit Shean and visit the excavated Roman theater. From here the tour goes south along the River Jordan Valley to the holy city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem - 4 nights BD
Day 5. Dead Sea - Massada - Qumran. Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point of earth, and along its shore to the fortress of Massada. You will view the 3 dimension museum theater, then ride the cable car to the top of the mountain to see Herod's fortress-palace, synagogue, bathhouses, and more. On the return trip to Jerusalem you visit the Caves of Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. You will have the time to enjoy a short "float" in the Dead Sea. Day 6. New city of Jerusalem - Bethlehem. Drive to Ein Karem and visit the Church of St. John the Baptist. Continue to Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust, visit the Shrine of The Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display, and the model of Jerusalem during the times of the 2nd Temple. Situation permitting, drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of The Nativity, Manger Square, and view Shepherds Field. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. BD
Day 7. Old city of Jerusalem. Drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic of the city. Visit the Chapel of Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Church of All Nations. Continue to the Pool of Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne. Walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of The Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to the area of Temple Mount - see the Western (Wailing) Wall and, situation permitting, visit Mt. Moriah to view the Dome of The Rock. On to the archaeological park - the excavations at the foot of the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount; view the original staircase of Hulda Gate which led to the Temple, the Herodian street, Robinson's Arch, and much more. Continue to Mount Zion and visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, King David Tomb, and the Room of The Last Supper. The tour ends with a visit to the Garden Tomb. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. BD
Day 8. Depart Jerusalem You will be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv for your onward flight. B
