This journey takes in the beautifully preserved classical city of Jerash, the biblical sites of Mt. Nebo, Bethany, and Petra—the rock city lost to the world for a millennium.

The little-visited Dana Nature Reserve extends from the top of the Rift Valley down to the desert lowlands of Wadi Araba. Here, you'll stay at a new eco-lodge which uses only candles and lantern light to afford the guest a romantic setting under the desert sky.

Day 1

Arrive Amman, where you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel, Four Seasons Hotel.

Day 2

Walking tour of old Amman: see the ancient ruins of the Temple of Hercules, and the restored massive Roman theater. Time permitting, visit the Royal Auto Museum, Four Seasons Hotel.

Day 3

Visit Jerash, including the Roman Army and Chariot Experience performed in a 2000-year-old Hippodrome. Explore various ruins including the imposing Triumphal Arch, the oval shaped forum, market place, temples and two theaters. Drive to Umm Qais, walk through the acropolis and the ruins of the basilica of Gadara, Four Seasons Hotel.

Day 4

Drive into Amman's desert where you will visit a series of these ancient castles, among them the Azraq castle. Walk through the Azraq Wetland Reserve, Four Seasons Hotel.

Day 5

Depart for Petra, driving down the King's Highway, visiting Madaba and Kerak. Travel through the Wadi al-Mujib canyon to Kerak. Continue to the Dana Nature Reserve, where you will stay overnight, Dana Guest House.

Day 6

Guided trek through Dana Reserve, ending at your hotel on the western edge of the reserve, Feynan Eco-Lodge.

Day 7

Drive to Petra, touring Little Petra en route. This evening experience the beautiful spectacle of Petra by Night (Mon, Wed, Thurs), Movenpick Petra.

Day 8

Spend the day exploring Petra, Movenpick Petra.

Day 9

Drive to Wadi Rum and enjoy a camel ride through Wadi Rum. Return to Petra, Movenpick Petra.

Day 10

Drive to Dead Sea, visit the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex and have lunch, Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea.

Day 11

Day trip through Wadi Mujib Nature Reserve, Kempinski Ishtar.

Day 12

Day at leisure to relax at the lowest point on earth and enjoy the facilities of your hotel, Kempinski Dead Sea Resort.

Day 13

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
