Follow the water's manifestations on a journey encompassing the bubbling geysers of Rotorua, the flowing ice river of Franz Josef Glacier, the serpentine shores of Lake Wakatipu and the peaks of Milford Sound. Tour Itinerary Days 1-2 Arrive in Auckland and continue to your luxurious Taupo retreat. Embark on a nature walk from Kinloch, on the shores of Lake Taupo, to Kawakawa Bay. Then set out on a luncheon lake cruise across Lake Taupo. At Mine Bay, admire a Maori artist's magnificent rock carvings that tower above the deep waters. Day 3 Explore the geothermal wonders of Rotorua, including Wai-O-Tapu. Continue to Rainbow Springs where you have the opportunity to see the kiwi bird before your flight to Christchurch. Day 4 Ride the Tranz Alpine Express train across Canterbury Plains toward Cass — one of the most picturesque rail experiences in New Zealand.
