Day 1. Arrive Auckland. You will be met and transferred by private car to your Auckland Stay of Distinction. Hilton Auckland (2nights)

Day 2. Luxury Lodge. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Wellington. On arrival you will be met and transferred by helicopter to Wharekauhau Lodge a 5,000 acre working sheep station overlooking Palliser Bay. You can choose from a veritable smorgasbord of outdoor activities or simply indulge in splendid luxury, superb local wines and irresistible cuisine. BD

Day 3.Wharekauhau Luxury Lodge. Today is free to relax in luxury or else take some laps in the indoor heated pool or play some tennis. A variety of activities such as a 4WD safari, horse trekking and trap shooting are also available. The renowned Martinborough wine-growing region is an easy drive and its wines are internationally acclaimed, particularly its Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. BD

Day 4. Queenstown. Depart by helicopter to Wellington for your onward flight to Queenstown (airfare not included). On arrival transfer by private car to your Stay of Distinction Punatapu Lodge, recently voted one of the best boutique hotels in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy this beautiful town set on Lake Wakatipu.

 The guest suites at Punatapu Lodge surround a courtyard and are separate from the outdoor kitchen whareumu and the main lodge which houses the lounge, dining room, breakfast conservatory and library. Exclusively furnished with natural materials, fine textiles, artworks, and furniture handcrafted by New Zealanders, Punatapu has style, strength of character and a special relationship with the environment (3 nights) BD

Day 5. Nature experience. After a short drive with commentary on the region, you'll begin your walk in a lush, native New Zealand beech forest to the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu, framed by evergreen trees and bush. The only sounds you'll hear will be the music of the native birds, and your guide will call them for you to see them up close. Gold-mining and farming form the backbone of the lake's history, and you'll visit relics of century-old habitation and cottage industry. A gentle walk to a rocky peninsula hilltop completes the half-day tour with glorious views in all directions, before returning to Queenstown (airfare not included). BD

Day 6. Fly and see Milford Sound. This morning board your scenic flight across the Alps to Milford Sound. Milford Sound has been called the 'Eighth Wonder of the World!' Only from above will you begin to appreciate the dramatic scenery and grandeur of this unique part of New Zealand. On landing at Milford you will board the modern fully equipped vessel and cruise through the sound. Before returning to Queenstown by air.

Day 7. Queenstown to Christchurch. Depart Queenstown for your flight (airfare not included) across the Alps to Christchurch . You will be transferred by private car to Charlotte Jane Luxury Guesthouse. This evening is free or you can pre-book a meal on the Christchurch tramcar restaurant (additional cost). Day 8. Leave tour. Depart today or extend your stay. There are many options such as a visit to one of the wilderness lodges or see the whales at Kaikoura (airfare not included). B
