Let us arrange accommodation before and after your tour (for an additional charge). Our representative will meet you at the airport, take you to your hotel, give you your tour documents and the next morning transfer you to your coach or train (or vice versa on departure).

Day 1. Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua. Travel south through lush Waikato farmland, past Hamilton, to Waitomo Caves for a boat ride under a galaxy of glowworms. Continue on to Mamaku Hills to Rotorua, steeped in Maori culture and history. We recommend you to attend a Maori hangi (feast) and concert tonight (extra coast). Stay 2 nights in Rotorua.

Day 2. At Rotorua. This morning, proceed on a half-day tour and see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at the thermal area, tame trout at the springs, and see performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. Your afternoon is free- many activities are available for you to enjoy. Overnight in Rotorua.

Day 3. Rotorua - Wellington. Drive south through exotic forests to Wairakei - wreathed by steam, then to Lake Taupo. The ominous peak of Tongariro, Ngaruahoe, and Ruapehu watch over the central plateau. Continue across the fertile plains of the Manawatu, coastal farms and rocky seascapes to Wellington. As you arrive in the late afternoon, consider adding an evening sightseeing tour or an additional night in Wellington to explore the city. Overnight in Wellington

Day 4. Wellington - Picton - Christchurch. Cross Cook Strait by ferry, to the Malborough Sounds and Picton. The Tranz Coastal train skims the spectacular coastline between the Kaikoura Ranges and the Pacific. Continue through North Canterbury sheep country to Christchurch arriving approximately at 7:00 pm.
