Day 1, Depart USA
Begin your holiday with an overnight flight to Argentina.
Day 2, Arrive Buenos Aires
Welcome to Buenos Aires, with its grand Parisian-style boulevards and pulsating tango nightlife. You are met on arrival and transferred to your deluxe hotel near the elegant Recoleta and Plaza San Martin. Sofitel Buenos Aires
Day 3, Buenos Aires
Take in the city highlights on a morning tour, from the Presidential Palace to La Recoleta cemetery, and La Boca Italian neighborhood with its bright fishermen’s houses and artists’ quarter. Day 4, Buenos Aires
Today is at leisure to enjoy the city’s distinguished museums, Colon Opera House, and world-class shopping, or take in an optional tour. Sofitel Buenos Aires (B)
Day 5, Buenos Aires / Iguassu Falls
Fly today to Iguassu Falls, a natural wonder with 275 thundering cascades. You are transferred to your hotel in the rainforest overlooking this dramatic scene. Ride trains along the upper trails to the Devil’s Throat gorge, and follow boardwalks to strategic overlooks at the brink of the falls for fantastic views from many perspectives. Day 6, Iguassu Falls / Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This morning, tour the falls’ Brazilian side. Follow catwalks to special lookouts of the deafening cascades, and ride a panoramic elevator to the base of the falls. In the afternoon, fly to Rio de Janeiro, the “marvelous city” of mountains and sea, sidewalk cafes, samba and carnival. You are transferred to your hotel on Copacabana Beach. Day 7, Rio de Janeiro
Head out in an open-topped, 4x4 jeep to explore the wilderness surrounding Rio. Weave through the Tijuca Forest’s tropical flora, waterfalls and lagoons, and hike to the Jaguar’s Den. Reach the summit of Corcovado by cogswheel train for grand views from the statue of Christ and the Chinese vista. Return to your hotel for a free afternoon. Day 8, Rio de Janeiro / Depart to USA
The day is at leisure to relax at the beaches and cafes, or take an optional excursion. Your hotel room is available for day use, for your convenience.
