Day 1: USA/Iguazú Falls, Brazil Board a flight to Iguazú, Brazil. In-flight
Day 2: Iguazú • Transfer to your hotel for immediate check-in. After lunch visit the Brazilian side of the Falls and take a Macuco safari boat ride through the rainforest. Tropical das Cataratas L, D
Day 3: Iguazú • Observe the lush flora along the path to Poço Preto, then spot cayman and parrot from your boat on the Iguazú River. After lunch accompanied by harp music, travel to the Argentine side of the Falls. Tropical das Cataratas B, L, D
Day 4: Iguazú/Cuiaba • Fly to Cuiaba and drive to your hotel, stopping first at the National Park of Chapada dos Guimarães and the Water Falls Tracks. After lunch visit the Casa de Pedra. Chapada Lodge B, L, D
Day 5: Cuiaba/Northern Pantanal After a tour of Chapada dos Guimarães, travel to Pousada do Rio Mutum. After lunch at your lodge, go on a photographic boat safari on the Mutum River. See giant otter, stingray and huge schools of colorful fish. Dine at your lodge and spot wildlife on a night jeep ride. Pousada do Rio Mutum B, L, D
Day 6: Northern Pantanal • Take an ecological walk through the jungle and open fields, then boat to Chacororé Bay and Siá Mariana Bay. After dinner, feed cayman and spot nocturnal wildlife. Pousada do Rio Mutum B, L, D
Day 7: Northern Pantanal • Observe the sunrise from a canoe. Return for breakfast, then board a boat for Cuiabá Mirim. After lunch spot animal life by jeep. Pousada do Rio Mutum B, L, D
Day 8: Northern Pantanal/Cuiaba/ Salvador • Stroll the area at sunrise. Your day is free until it's time to board a flight to Salvador. Convento do Carmo B, L
Days 9-10: Salvador • Explore Salvador over the next two days. Visit Pelourinho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest complex of colonial architecture in South America; the church of São Francisco; and Pelourinho Square. Observe a performance of the fight-dance/game capoeira. Board a traditional schooner for a ride along Baia de Todos os Santos to Ilha do Frade (Friars' Island). Visit São Marcelo ("Fort of the Sea") and shop for handicrafts at Mercado Modelo. Attend a folklore show. Convento do Carmo B, L, D
Day 11: Salvador/Rio de Janeiro • Fly to Rio de Janeiro and visit the Cathedral, view the Municipal Theater and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Take the two-stage car to the peak and admire the stunning views below. Sit down to a barbecue dinner tonight. Sofitel Rio de Janeiro B, D
Day 12: Rio de Janeiro • Explore the traditional Santa Teresa district, D. Marta Belvedere, view the Maracanã stadium, the Guanabara Bay and Tijuca Atlantic Forest. After lunch, visit an exclusive social project that integrates children and teenagers from the poor communities into society through music, dancing and art.
