Though Easter Island is more often approached from Chile, it is equally accessible from French Polynesia; this itinerary combines the picture-perfect beaches of Bora Bora and Le Taha'a with the mystery and intrigue of Easter Island. Start in Papeete, where you will connect to a flight to Raiatea Island and then take a short boat ride to Le Taha'a. This is the most anticipated new resort in French Polynesia, a secluded island paradise where guests are pampered in deluxe style. After four days at Le Taha'a, fly to Easter Island, one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world. Spend two days exploring the island and learning about the ancient moai sculptures that stand guard over the landscape. Among the highlights of your time there will be a visit to the quarry where the sculptures were created, a drive to the volcano Rano Kau, and time at the archaeological zone of Anakena. After Easter Island, return to French Polynesia for an overnight in Papeete before flying to Bora Bora.
