Days 1-2 - Quito, UNESCO World Heritage City In spite of its altitude of 9,350 feet, the city's equatorial proximity provides a temperate climate year round. Tour the city's main sites, including its magnificent churches and monasteries influenced by the Ecuadorian Baroque Style, a mix of Spanish, Italian, Moorish, Flemish and indigenous art Dine one night on international cuisine at the former palace of an archbishop. Days 3-9 - Galapagos Islands Voyage Fly to the Galapagos to begin your cruise aboard the M/V Legend. Many of the plant and animal species of the islands exist nowhere else, and because of its prolonged isolation from humans, the wildlife here is uninhibited and approachable. Your island hopping (and snorkeling and swimming) will enable you to get close to a variety of animals, including tortoises, marine and land iguanas and sea lions. M/V Legend
Day 10 - Return to Quito Disembark and fly to Quito. The remainder of your day is at leisure. Swissotel
Days 11-12 - Andean Cloud Forest Travel to your private, centuries-old hacienda in the foothills of the 19,000-foot Antisana Volcano—the heart of the Andean cloud forest. En route, visit an ecological reserve, a sanctuary for endangered species such as the Andean condor and puma. After a picnic lunch, continue to the hacienda, the centerpiece of a 4,000-acre working farm once owned by two Ecuadorian Presidents and owned by their descendants. Day 13 - Indian Villages and Markets Visit the famous Otavalo Artisan Market as well as other nearby Indian towns famous for their leather goods and weaving. Enjoy lunch at a charming inn by San Pablo Lake and return to Quito in the afternoon. Swissotel
