11 Days Tailor Made Lima, Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca Tour Package Duration: 11 Days / 10 Nights Priced From: Call Travelwizard
Explore the rich history of colonial Lima before heading to Colca Canyon, where you can fish, ride horses and master the native cuisine. Explore Lake Titicaca and visit the historic sites of Cusco.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Lima this evening, where you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Board a flight to Arequipa, nestled among beautiful mountains and valleys. Drive to the Colca Canyon, an area of chasms measuring 11,000 feet, earning its title as the world's deepest canyon. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 3 You may choose to go sport fishing, trail horse riding, bicycling or take a walking tour. Other possibilities include cooking classes, feeding the young alpaca and visiting the vegetable garden.
Day 4 Early this morning, depart for the Condor Cross, where you have an opportunity to observe these magnificent birds gliding over the canyon and around mountain peaks. Later, return to Arequipa and visit the Main Square, the cathedral and the Santa Catalina Monastery, the most important and impressive religious monument of Peru.
Day 5 This morning, depart on a flight to Juliaca and transfer to your hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Day 6 Choose from among a variety of activities offered by the hotel. You can explore the Andean communities on the islands of Taquile or Uros; visit the archaeological sites of Chullpas de Sillustani; view the splendid colonial churches in the towns of Juli, Pomata and Lampa; or simply absorb the spirit of the region.
Day 7 Early this morning, fly to Cusco and visit the historical Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and the Church of Santo Domingo. Later, explore the ruins of Sacsayhuaman.
Day 8 Board the train to Machu Picchu, where a late morning arrival gives you time to begin your explorations of this breathtaking Incan citadel. Excavations at the site have revealed skeletons, artifacts and woolen clothing, but no treasure or written records, forever obscuring the secret of Machu Picchu's decline.
Day 9 Engage in one of the eco-activities offered by your hotel or further explore Machu Picchu. Return to Cusco after lunch.
Day 10 Fly back to Lima and embark on a city tour that includes a visit to the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Monastery of San Francisco and the Archaeological Museum.
Day 11 Board your homebound flight.
