Explore the rich history of colonial Lima. Fly to Arequipa, nestled among beautiful mountains and valleys, and drive to Colca Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world, where you can choose from a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, horseback riding and cooking classes. Unwind with two leisure-filled days on private Suasi Island before a full-day excursion on Lake Titicaca.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Lima this evening, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. The "City of Kings" is one of contrasts-colonial splendor and the teeming vitality of an oriental bazaar, with cloudy winters and warm breezy summers.
Day 2: A morning tour showcases the city's highlights that are mostly clustered around the central Plaza Mayor: the Cathedral, church of San Francisco with its collection of fine paintings and frescoes and the Presidential Palace. Later, drive through the fashionable San Isidro and Mirafl ores districts, stopping to see dazzling artifacts at the Gold Museum.
Day 3: Board a flight to Arequipa, nestled among beautiful mountains and valleys. This afternoon tour Peru's "White City" to see the Santa Catalina Convent, the Plaza de Armas and the former cloisters of the Jesuit orders. Then drive through picturesque Yanahuara and Chilina, with magnificent views of the Misti Volcano's snow-topped peak.
Day 4:
Drive to the Colca Canyon, an area of chasms measuring 11,000 feet, earning its title as the world's deepest canyon. This afternoon enjoy the activities offered by your hotel.
Days 5-6: Design Your Day from an array of outdoor activities that includes sport fishing, trail horse riding, bicycling and walking tours. Other possibilities include cooking classes, feeding the young alpaca and visiting the vegetable garden.
Return to Arequipa on the second Day.
Day 7: Board a flight to Juliaca and transfer to Suasi Island, a private island near the remote northern shores of Lake Titicaca.
Day 8: Engage in a variety of eco-tourism activities at the hotel: trek the trails, observe the flora and fauna, visit Andean farms, ride canoes around the island, walk along the beach or visit the solar panels system.
Day 9: Depart for a full-Day excursion on Lake Titicaca, sightseeing on Taquile and the floating Uros islands. From Puno, fly back to Lima.
