Begin your holiday with an overnight flight from the USA to Argentina.
Day 2,Buenos Aires, Argentina / Colonia, Uruguay
Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where you are met and transferred to the pier. Cross the Rio Plate by hydrofoil to Colonia, Uruguay, a 17th century colonial jewel. Here you are met and transferred to your hotel amid winding cobblestone lanes often used as scenery backdrops for historical films. Plaza Sacramento
Day 3,Colonia / Montevideo
On a morning tour, explore Colonia’s atmospheric old quarter and beyond, from the beautifully-restored lighthouse and fort, to the city walls and museums, old bullring, and Street of Sighs. After lunch, depart to Montevideo. Sheraton (B,L)
Day 4,Montevideo

Transfer to inner Uruguay to enjoy the wide open spaces and traditional gaucho activities of a historic working ranch. You will be hosted by the owners of the ranch, which provides very comfortable accommodation in colonial-era buildings with antique furnishings. Experience the wide open countryside of your estancia, a haven for birding and hiking. Connect with nature, get acquainted with the country way of life, and participate, if you wish, in the daily work of the gauchos, herding cattle, shearing sheep, and tending the farm animals.
