Day 1: Arrive Mt. Hagen
Arrive in the rugged highlands, where your local host greets you takes you your lodge. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore your surroundings. Haus Poroman (B,L,D)
Day 2: Mt. Hagen & Chimbu Province
Today offers you a full day of adventure as you set out to discover the fascinating mountain town of Mt. Hagen and Chimbu Province. Pass Kubor Ranges (highest point 14, 300 ft), lush vegetation, and tea and coffee plantations. Chimbu Province features startling landscapes of jagged limestone ridges, the side of which are almost perpendicular to raging rivers. Amazingly, these impossible places are under intense cultivation. This tour includes a visit to the famous Mudmen, a cultural performance by Chimbu players and Oma Masalai Group. Haus Poroman (B,L,D)
Day 3: Mt. Hagen
Take a half-day tour of a coffee plantation. This afternoon, relax at your lodge, surrounded by beauty, history and culture. Enjoy the native feel of a traditional haus with modern conveniences. Lounge by the inviting open fire in the main lodge, or find solitude hiking or relaxing in the gardens. The elaborate gardens feature exotic flowers, trees and herbs. Hike to stunning waterfall or local villages, accompanied by friendly guides. Take tours to regional attractions, including the Mt Hagen market, coffee and tea plantations, and rainforest or to the neighboring province with Mudmen performances.
