Bora Bora Lagoon Resort Hotel Entertainment
Our highly popular Theme Night Buffets allow you to indulge in the exotic and romantic pleasure of dining under the stars. Most often accompanied by spectacular local entertainment, these occasions are not to be missed. The buffets and shows take place every Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
On Monday nights, hotel guests are invited to the Manager's cocktail reception, held from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Hiro Bar. This is the occasion to meet with all the resort's team and to appreciate a tasty cocktail or glass of champagne and canapes overlooking the infinity pool. A black pearl fashion defile is also held during the cocktail reception.
Thursday we offer the Tahitian buffet and traditional dances. Saturday, Otemanu Restaurant offers a fabulous buffet of the best lagoon seafood as well as grilled meats, salads, etc. The buffet is followed by the famous Fire Dance show.
The Tahitian Buffet and Show
If the weather permits, guests are seated outdoors on the terrace of the Otemanu Restaurant, with a fantastic view of Otemanu Mountain. The terrace is semi-circular in shape, with several tiers that descend to a firelit ring of sand where the shows take place.
Each show is an hour-long spectacle of exquisite singing and exotic, rhythmic dances. These include the tamure, a very fast dance accompanied by frenzied drum beats, and the aparima, where the women perform soft, gentle hand-dances, each movement telling a story. During high season, Otemanu restaurant offers every Saturday night a terrifying and magnificent fire-dance, fearlessly performed by a male trio effortlessly wielding huge wheels of fire. A full orchestra playing traditional Tahitian musical instruments accompanies the dancers and singers.
The buffet features typical Tahitian dishes and local produce. For Saturday's Special buffet night, fish is generously featured. The buffet is displayed in individual fares decorated with palm leaves and flowers, with at least three chefs in attendance to grill the guests' choice 'à la minute' and to explain the various dishes.
The dress code for guests is the same as for the Otemanu Restaurant - slightly formal. Men are requested to wear long trousers. Neither jackets nor ties are required. The Staff in typical Tahitian fashion are always in uniform.
Maru Spa
Experience the Only Treetop Spa in French Polynesia...
Located on a small motu in the middle of the most beautiful lagoon in the world, Marù Spa is the most authentic Polynesian Spa in the Pacific Ocean. It overlooks the lagoon and faces Mount Pahia. High up in the branches of two giant Banyan trees, the wooden cabins are almost hidden making it the ultimate place to experience treatments, listening to the soft breeze of the wind in the leaves...
Marù Spa's Polynesian influence echoes in the signature treatments available. Locals have kept the knowledge of using plants, flowers and specific fruits such as the Moni for medicinal or cosmetic purposes. The Monoi oil itself is the basis of Marù Spa's signature treatments. "Monoi" comes from the Maohi for sacred oil and results in the maceration of coconut, plants and fresh Tiare flowers. Fruits, sugar and sand together with precious stones, Maru Spa's product line was designed by Rachelle Moulai, Spa Director, and developed locally, with the greatest respect for Nature, its fauna and flora and, of course, for guests and therapists.
Marù Spa's therapists come from various backgrounds and work rather intuitively, placing the emphasis on healing and caring rather than on technics. The guests and their needs are their primary concerns - personalized treatments can be developed after a private consultation with Rachelle Moulai.
Our Signature Experiences
Honeymoon Bliss
This sensual and luxurious treatment begins with a Pineapple and brown sugar body exfoliation, which awakens the senses and stimulates the circulation. 80 minutes of Traditional Polynesian massage follows, leaving you with a feeling of well being and renewed energy through the application of traditional Monoi oil. You will then slide into a decadent coconut milk and flower bath overlooking the lagoon and relax with a refreshing drink. Absolute bliss awaits.
Sacred Tamanu
Used for centuries by the local people, Tamanu is known for its capacity to heal and promote the formation of new skin tissue. Widely used as a traditional topical aid – for burns, dry skin - it is especially soothing for the skin after sun exposure. To start, you will be cocooned in our moisture and vitamin rich Tamanu balm, followed by a hydrating face mask. As this nourishing mask penetrates the skin, your scalp will be massaged with warm Monoi oil. A relaxing and gentle body massage with coconut and banana Monoi oil concludes this treatment.
Te ua Maohi Tahitian Rainstorm
Have you ever basked in a tropical rainstorm? Allowed yourself to be thoroughly soaked in a glorious downpour? This invigorating experience will leave you laid bare under a cloudburst of a warm tropical rainstorm, luxuriate in our Lagoon sand scrub made of mineral rich algae and succumb to the long, smooth, gliding strokes of our Rainshower massage. Relaxed and refreshed, you will then be wrapped in a warm, vitamin rich marine mud which re-hydrates and re-mineralizes your skin and body.
Rouru Tahitian Coconut Hair and Scalp Massage
The dark glossy hair of Polynesian women may have been best captured by Gauguin, but its source has long been credited to Monoi oil. This treatment involves a luxurious hair and scalp massage with warm Monoï oil. The oil is then left on the hair and wrapped in a warm towel while the therapist moves to the feet for an equally luxurious skin-softening massage.
Avae Ritual
This ritual begins with a relaxing soak in a warm coconut milk and flower foot bath. Your feet will then be scrubbed and exfoliated before treated to a blissful foot massage.
