Top Dive Resort Hotel Bora Bora Vacations, Honeymoons and Dive Travel Packages

TOPdive Resort is a small boutique hotel with 9 bungalows located on the main island of Bora Bora, 5 minutes from Vaitape, the main village of the island. Three bungalows are built over the water and the other six face the exquisite garden. All are made of heavy wood, have a pandanus roof (a kind of local palm tree leaf) and have an outdoor terrace. Since we are a small resort, we can provide personalized service above and beyond any other resort.
There is a central fresh water pool next to the restaurant facing the ocean and a sun deck for relaxing. We have a beautiful terrace on the lagoon, where you can have dinner at night. Our restaurant is known as one of the best tables on the island and we serve fine dishes of French and international cuisine.
We provide a wide choice of activities with the best providers on the island. There is a dive center inside the hotel where you can sign up for regular dives or, if you are new to the scuba diving world, you can train to become PADI certified during your vacation.

TOPdive Restaurant
The TOPdive restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere. You have a superb view on the lagoon of Bora Bora and you can watch the sea life from its terrace at night. The marble floor and its incredibly high ceiling resemble a cathedral. The warm color of the wood and the hosptiality of the employees makes dining with us an unforgettable event.
Our wine list has a wide selection of exquisite Bordeaux red vines directly imported by us. All are ranked between 18 and 20 points on the Parker scale (20 is the maximum rating). We also offer terrific white wines and even some American wine selections like Opus One.

Bora Bora Activities
In association with TOPeXcursions There are many things to do while in Bora Bora. Assuming you don't want to stay inside your hotel during the whole day, we suggest the following: First, decide whether you would like to explore the island from the air, land, or water. From the air you can take helicopter tours or parasail. On sunny days you have an amazing view of the lagoon with its variety of beatiful blue hues. The parasailing tour will show you the south part of the island and provide you with a view of the sister islands Raiatea and Tahaa.
There are also bus tours going around the island and stopping at various landmarks. More fun is the 4x4 safari excursion, as the jeeps can go on unpaved paths inside the island. You can also rent cars. My favorite one is the "fun car". It looks almost like a toy cabriolet, and is very cute.
The boat excursions inside the lagoon usually offer a trip around the main island. As the boats stay inside the lagoon, there are almost no waves, and you can enjoy superb sights of the Otemanu and Paia mountains. You will stop on a Motu (small island of the outer reef) where you can do some snorkeling, or just relax on the wild beach. Some tours are combined with a BBQ where they serve authentic Tahitian food. One of the famous dishes is the "Poisson cru à la Tahitienne" (Tahitian raw fish). Join a shark and sting ray feeding excursion for an adrenaline boost. If you like it faster, join a wave runner tour and enjoy the scenery at high speed. You can also explore the island on your own and rent a boat. These are small aluminum boats with a small outboard engine. You need no license to drive them. The Taravana catamaran will take you on a day cruise to the Tupai atoll, and for the romantic ones we have the sunset cruise inside our lagoon.
The most exciting excursions of course are the ones under the water. On the dry side you have a submarine with air conditioning and classical music, and on the wet side is real scuba diving. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or if you have already logged a couple hundred dives. French Polynesia is THE place for scuba diving. You can see many manta rays in Bora Bora, lemon sharks in Moorea, and hammerhead sharks in Rangiroa. It's amazing how big the fish are here.

Conditions
Currently, French Polynesia in not well know in the scuba world, but that is what you will enjoy about it. With fewer divers it is easier to preserve this little paradise...just for you. Actually, French Polynesia is the ideal spot for all levels of scuba divers. There are dive locations for the beginner inside the lagoon are more technical ones outside the reef. The visibility is very good in all locations, however as everywhere else it is dependent on factors outside our control such as weather and currents. Diving is excellent year round which means that there is no "best" season for scuba diving in French Polynesia. We have both a dry and a rainy season. The rainy season is during the Tahitian summer which lasts from December until February, and typically involves rain in the morning with sun in the afternoon.
Temperature The water temperature ranges from 70 degrees during the Winter to 80 degrees during the Summer. Many divers here dive without a wet suit, but we suggest you dive with one to keep from getting chilly (a 3mm short wet suit should keep you plenty warm).
What You'll See If you enjoy seeing big fish this is the place to be. Sharks, sharks, and more sharks. Tahiti was rated shark capital of the Pacific by Skin Diver magazine and it definately lives up to its rating. Lemon, grey, black tip, white tip, and hammerhead sharks all make the waters around Tahiti their home.
The waters of Bora Bora are also home to the graceful manta rays. We are very lucky here, as we can see them inside the lagoon which means the dive location is perfect for divers with little experience, as the maximum depth is 60 feet.
To get the most enjoyment out of diving with the big fish it is important to not touch or swim towards them. Instead, when you see one swimming towards you, stay calm, keep your arms close to your body and try to make as few movements as possible. You should try to stay out of their direct path so that they don't have to swim around you. If you are careful you can follow them after they have passed, but they are fast and you will rapidly run out of breath if you try to keep up for too long.
Dive Centres Our dive centers in Bora Bora, Moorea and Rangiroa provide all necessery gear. The equipment is actually included in the dive price. All our centers are authorized PADI dive centers which means we dive according to the standards and safety rules of PADI. The French law for dive centers is very strict and we are inspected at least once a year to make sure all guidelines and safety measures are met.
Equipment All our equipment is Scubapro. We dive with 12 liter steel tanks (15 liter tanks are available by request). The tank valve is an INT and can be changed to a DIN one. We use Scubapro R-190 regulators with R-190 Octopi.
