Itinerary
Day 1 Fly USA to Papeete
Please note international air from the USA has not been included in the package price.
Once you clear customs and immigration, look for your name on the board. Your Tekura Tahiti representative will assist you to the vehicle for your transfer to The Radisson Plaza Resort.
Papeete, the capital and commercial hub of French Polynesia, hosts the government offices, hospitals, banks, airline and travel agencies, boutiques and black pearl shops. The Central Market (Marché Central) is a must, located 1 block behind the waterfront. You will see traditional Tahitian crafts, flowers, fruits, fish and other produce. The waterfront is attractive, with a tree lined promenade along a marina with an international yachting community
Day 2 Fly Papeete to Raiatea
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Raiatea. On arrival at Raiatea airport, you will be met and assisted to the boat for the 35 minute transfer to your Taha’a accommodation.
Raiatea and Taha'a are two separate islands sharing the same lagoon, located 120 miles North East of Tahiti, between Huahine and Bora Bora among the leeward Society Islands.
Raiatea is the second largest island of French Polynesia after Tahiti. The island tour reveals lush green valleys, numerous waterfalls, and pineapple and vanilla plantations. Taha'a has no airport, but regular shuttle boats depart from the docks of Raiatea joining various villages around the island.
Days 3-5 At leisure, Taha’a
Sharing a common lagoon with Raiatea and accessible only by boat, Taha’a produces about 80% of all vanilla in French Polynesia. Taha’a is the only island in the Society Islands that can be completely circled by boat inside the protected lagoon. With its many deep bays and small deserted motu on the reef, Taha’a is an ideal island to escape the 20th century. Here you can explore the reef and discover the beauty of its multicolored lagoon, enjoy a picnic on a deserted motu or go hiking in the mountains and through the vanilla plantations and learn the mystery of these "orchids". With only a handful of guest houses and two small hotels, Taha’a is slowly awakening to tourism and yet it still maintains an authentic flavor of Polynesia
Day 6 Fly Raiatea to Bora Bora
Today transfer by boat to Raiatea airport for your flight to Bora Bora. On arrival at Bora Bora airport, you will be met and assisted to the boat for your transfer to the hotel.
Day 7 Tour – Full day Lagoonarium & Shark Feeding
Travel around the island of Bora Bora by outrigger canoe, cruising the most beautiful lagoon in the world. A stop is made near the reef to wait for young sharks, which are attracted by the smell of fish thrown into the water. Equipped with snorkel gear, you may enjoy the underwater view of those sharks and the colorful corals around the site. From here the tour continues to the natural lagoonarium. Each kind of tropical fish has their own park: Rays and sharks, turtles, giant mussels, lobsters and many varieties of multi-colored fish. Fresh local fruits and coconut drinks will be offered, and you have time to walk around this small island, before the return to your hotel.
Days 8-9 At leisure, Bora Bora
This island offers a multitude of activities and excursions, one of the most popular being the shark's "breakfast" where from chest-deep water you watch local divers feed 4' to 5' reef sharks by hand. It's a lot of fun and totally safe. The same routine is done with a large group of friendly stingrays.
Tourist facilities are not too numerous, and understated enough so as not to alter the landscape's beauty.
