Stoke Park Club Park Restaurant
The Park Restaurant, open for residents, members and their guests only, has recently undergone a uniquely stylish refurbishment, making it one of the most desirable destinations outside London. The Park draws its inspiration from the 1920s, the French Riviera, and Art Deco elegance, with original paintings and prints, bespoke leather seating and Conran designed oak tables all contributing to its luxurious ambience. The seasonally varied and locally sourced menu could be described as classically British, but Mediterranean influences and an often intriguingly contemporary twist ensure that it constantly defies and surpasses expectations. Executive Head Chef Chris Wheeler joined Stoke Park Club in 2003. His impressive culinary background includes the role of Group Head Chef and right hand man to Jean-Christophe Novelli across his empire of Michelin starred restaurants in London. He is excited about The Park's refurbishment. 'I have been inspired over the summer to create some tempting new dishes for the autumn menu. I try to experiment with new flavours and textures while respecting the classic British style The Park has become renowned for.' And of course, its setting at one of the world's leading country clubs and luxury hotels ensures that a visit to The Park does not have to end with dessert. The effortless style that makes The Park such a uniquely relaxed restaurant is continued throughout Stoke Park Club, with its cosy lounges; beautifully relaxed private bars; secluded terraces overlooking Italian fountain gardens; some of the finest bedrooms and suites in the country; a 27 hole championship parkland golf course; and the award-winning spa, known as SPA SPC.

Course Information
As well as being a challenging and demanding course you will find it hard not to be stirred by the exquisite views and landscapes of the Club's championship course known as Stoke Poges. The club's true 27 hole course is made up of the three nine hole courses Colt, Alison and Jackson.
Golf Membership Golf Membership (five or seven day) entitles you to all of the benefits of Social Membership, together with fulll complementary use of the Club’s 27 hole championship golf course, together with the driving range, putting green, and short game practice area. The golf course, know as Stoke Poges, was designed by Harry Shapland Colt. It was opened in July 1908 and received immediate acclaim:- “If there were no palatial clubhouse and no beautiful gardens and grounds, the course itself would take a great deal of beating anywhere within thirty miles of London. Colt, to whom belongs the credit of designing it, has scored a great success and his reputation as a green architect, already high, will be greatly enhanced by this the latest of his works.” (Golf Illustrated, 1909). The course has stood the test of time: “Longevity and history do not necessarily make for a great golf course but in the case of Stoke Poges it becomes immediately apparent why this layout has withstood the considerable test of time. It got off to a good start when the original landlord called on Colt to offer his services as a designer.... it does have Colt’s finest single hole (the seventh), a short par three upon which the notorious twelth at Augusta was modelled.” (Today’s Golfer, 1992). The exceptionally high quality of the greens, which have been consistently maintained, are a particular feature of the course. In November 2005 Golf World chose the course within the “Top 100 Courses in the World”, however, Stoke Park is about more than just a great course, with the traditions, events, competitions and atmosphere created over 100 years in the true sense of the word. Reciprocal agreements also enable you to play at many leading clubs, both in this country and around the world.

The estate dates back to the doomsday book, when king william i presented it to william de stoke (who subsequently gave it his name). Queen elizabeth i owned the estate between 1581 and 1603, and king charles i was held prisoner there in 1647. The lakes were designed in 1750 by lancelot 'capability' brown, whilst much of the club¹s present parkland was created during the 1790s by the eighteenth century¹s other great landscape designer, humphrey repton.
Tennis Facilities
The Club has 13 tennis courts. Three indoor carpet courts, six (Wimbledon specification) championship grass courts and four outdoor all-weather courts, The Club has a number of coaches who teach at every level on an individual and group basis and are in attendance at all the club sessions.
