The Goring Hotel Resort, London Vacations, Honeymoons and Luxury Travel Packages

From the start, the secret of our success has been our understanding of what our guests expect: Luxurious comfort, good food and drink and the most attentive service. For us, the most important of these is service.

"My Great Grandpa built The Goring in 1910. It was no coincidence that it was situated next to Buckingham Palace, and right on the doorstep of all the best London has to offer."
The beautiful Goring gardens give you the opportunity to really take a break. Relax in the gardens or in our Garden Terrace with a cocktail, the choice is yours. If you are looking for an unique summer location for your wedding reception our private garden is ideal for up to 250 guests.

The Goring Hotel Resort Dining & Events
Eating and drinking is at the heart of The Goring Hotel. Beneath its 71 luxurious bedrooms are a series of rooms dedicated to the pursuits of the pleasures given by good food and good wine.
Dining Room
At the far end of the hotel you are transported into a cathedral of light which is our Dining Room. Newly refurbished by Linley, England’s most famous furniture maker, the Dining Room provides the perfect backdrop for the perfect meal.
Derek Quelch
Derek has revived English cooking over that period and has bought back many famous, and sometimes forgotten, English dishes. Eggs Drumkilbo, once a favourite of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, has been revived for all our guests to enjoy. Judging from the amount being served they really do enjoy it. The Lobster Thermidor Omelette he has created is a firm favourite with many guests.
As well as running one of London’s busiest kitchens (producing food not only for the Dining Room but for hundreds of people a week in our lounge bar and of course many private functions) he also finds time to help in the community. On a regular basis Derek teaches children to cook at Great Ormond Street Hospital and brings fun and frivolity to otherwise difficult lives. Derek is also a very active member of the Academy of Culinary Arts as well as mentors young apprentices who train in our kitchens.
Wines
There are over 500 bins now available on the list and many many more waiting to come up from the cellars. Our house Champagne is one of the oldest in the world; Ruinart, this rich sensual wine makes the perfect start to any meal.
Great Clarets and Burgundies abound on the list, there are also some fine Italian wines, some of the greatest American and Australian wines to be savoured with the help of our team of Sommeliers. Each month Jeremy Goring selects a handful of wines which best compliments the dishes being served that month in the Dining Room. This gives him an opportunity to show off some of the glories of our cellar.
Cheeses
Over 25 locally produced cheeses are available each day from our beautiful hand carved trolley. These range from the lightest of goat’s cheeses to the richest of triple creams and the glories of four of our world famous cheddars - Keen’s, Montgomery’s, Isle of Mull and Westcombe. Hand made quince jelly provided by one of our clients from her cottage industry is the perfect accompaniment to this selection of fabulous British cheeses.
The Bar & Lounge
Straight through the front doors and into the Garden Bar. These three interconnecting rooms provide different environments for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and evening suppers. The dark clubby bar leads through to a light, airy terrace and finally into the grand yet comfortable lounge.
This year The Veranda was added to the back of the terrace. This open space seats 24 people overlooking the famous Goring Gardens where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
For more information on our bar and lounge facilities, please select one of the following:
The Veranda
Overlooking our private garden, the largest of its kind in London, the Veranda at the Goring provides a unique casual dining experience. It is exclusively open to our residents each morning, and what better way to start the day than with a light breakfast in the fresh air, and perhaps indulge in a glass of champagne awaken the senses!
The Garden Bar
Whether unwinding with a long refreshing drink after experiencing the sights of London, or melting into the aromas of a fine cognac before retiring to bed, the Garden Bar is the perfect place.
The Lounge Bar
Favoured by both hotel residents and Londoners alike, the Lounge Bar is one of London's busiest and most thriving venues. On a typical evening, expect to see a fascinating cross section of clientele from all walks of society, sipping on champagne poured from endless magnums and nibbling on the canapés being passed around by the charming and cheery bar staff.
Afternoon tea on The Terrace
Traditional afternoon tea is a meal surrounded by etiquette and strange customs, first introduced in the early Nineteenth Century. The meal was invented by Anna, Duchess of Bedford to fill the time between early luncheon and dinner, which was considered to be the low point of many a country house party!
Meetings & Private Parties
The Goring can offer the following meeting and party facilities.
Weddings
We are licensed to hold weddings for up to 50 people here at The Goring. Over the years we have had many ceremonies from just 4 people up to 50. There can be no more perfect place to get married than a family run hotel for such an important family occasion.
Many clients will get married in one of the gorgeous local churches but will then come on to The Goring for their Wedding Breakfast. Our garden provides the perfect venue for up to 250 guests to join in celebrating the nuptials. Here at The Goring the sun always seem to shine on wedding days!
Meetings at The Goring
The Goring Hotel is not just a place of play but also a place of work for many of our guests. We have four Private Dining Rooms which, as well as being used for dinner and lunches, can be used for meetings. Each of them has a different feel and character catering for between 4 people and 40. Whatever your requirements we have a room suitable for you.
Menus
Derek Quelch and his Chefs have created a magnificent array of lunch, dinner and buffet menus available for all sorts of occasions. Whether it be a cocktail party for 250 with some of London’s smartest canapés (all using the best of British products) or a lunch for 4 we have the menu for you. Three course meals in our private dining rooms start from £40.00 per person and cocktail parties start from £21.00 per person.
Archive Room

The walls are panelled in light oak, the tables laid with crisp white linen and shining silver glistens in the candlelight.
The Gardens
Here some of London’s most wonderful parties take place each year. A selection of marquee options are available depending on the type of party you wish to hold.
The Garden can cater for up to 200 seated for one of Chef Derek Quelch's cold buffets featuring the very finest of British ingredients. Or cocktail parties can be held for up to 250 people as waiters glide between the guests serving Pimms, Champagne and canapés of exceptional quality.
