Bovey Castle on Dartmoor National Park state Originally built as a private home and sporting estate the Castle exudes the elegance, luxury and excitement of the 1920's. Throughout the Estate, ornamental garden furniture, follies and pavilions have been carefully restored and thatchwork roofs reinstalled. The vast Estate, parklands, formal gardens and rivers have undergone extensive restoration in keeping with the style of traditional gardens of the turn of the Century. The extensive Borders and herbaceous gardens now replanted with traditional Victorian specimens will provide the nature lover and gardener alike with fine vistas all year round colour.
Bovey Castle on Dartmoor National Park Accommodations The Estate's accommodations are divided between the Castle, Mews and individual Lodges within the grounds. The Castle’s suites, staterooms and bedrooms enjoy a variety of views and are looked after twice daily by cheerful house staff who provide a friendly and attentive service. Castle Rooms Sixty five individually designed bedrooms, bathrooms & Castle Suites, styled with the simplicity & cool stylishness of the golden era, provide for comfortable & elegant accommodation throughout. Castle Staterooms The Castle has several unique staterooms from the traditional Hambledon family rooms to the exceptional larger one and two bedroom suites with dual/triple aspect of the gardens, moors and beyond. Rose Cottage For those looking for complete privacy, The Rose Cottage with two bedrooms is an exquisitely designed accommodation in its own private gardens overlooking the golf course. Ideal as a romantic bolt-hole or for families with older children. The Lodges A number of individual private granite built lodges are available for short and long stay guests. Conferences The separate mews, situated across the Castle courtyard, has been completely refurbished to provide a fully serviced state-of-the-art business and conference centre. Located away from the main Castle, the mews provides a secluded and focused venue. The mews has a multi-media theatre complete with satellite conferencing, two stylish boardrooms, communication rooms and reception. There is separate accommodation and office facilities for on-site secretarial services. Meetings The Castle Mews buildings are conveniently located to the Castle to offer state of the art boardrooms, conference rooms and press rooms for meetings of up to 80 guests’ theatre style. Support rooms for meetings staff are also available within the Mews building. Special Events Reception rooms include drawing and dining rooms, the snooker room, meeting rooms, board rooms and a discreetly located childrens barn, all of which are available for private use.
