Accommodation at the Summer Lodge, Dorset is exceptional with 20 bedrooms, 2 one bedroom suites and 2 two bedroom suites. Each room at the 4 star English Country House Hotel is individually decorated and comes complete with the latest in state of the art technology including large plasma screen TV and DVD, air conditioning, Satellite TV and High Speed Wireless Internet access.
Rooms and suites are not only available in the Main House but also in the Coach House which feature their own conservatory or balcony overlooking the pool and spa area, as well as in one of our 3 cottages including the romantic Ivy Cottage which is perfect for honeymooners.
Room One, our Master Bedroom was originally designed by Thomas Hardy himself and offers a magnificent open fireplace and overlooks the perfectly manicured English country gardens that frame the house beautifully.
Time in the country would not be complete without man's best friend and so pets are welcome in the Coach House with prior arrangement.

Principal Rooms
Our Principal rooms offer all the luxury of our standard rooms with the benefits of a King sized bed and a range of inspiring views including the gardens, courtyard and village. Two of our Principal rooms in our Coach House also include a small balcony and french windows overlooking the spa and pool area. Principal rooms may either offer twin or double bedded accommodation
Superior Rooms
With five Superior rooms in the Main House and another three in the Cottages you can upgrade your comfort to these King or Queen bedded rooms, which may also be twins if you prefer. Views in the Main House rooms are of the Courtyard and gardens and the cottages have their own garden area. Naturally all the facilities and technology throughout our accommodation feature here with a little extra luxury just when you need it!
Classic Room
With views of either the courtyard or the village beyond, the two classic rooms are located on the first floor of the main house. Not quite as large as a superior or principal room, however, exquisitely decorated in the style of the rest of the hotel with gas fireplaces and plasma TVs with DVD players.
Suites
Master Bedroom
Located on the first floor of the Main House, an impressive large room featuring a four poster King size bed, separate seating and dining area with open fireplace and large windows overlooking the gardens. The room features two exeptional bathrooms with bath and shower and three plasma screen TVs to keep you in touch with the world. Sumptuous fabrics and antique furniture make a stay in this room something very special indeed!
Suites
From a glass conservatory with private walled garden in the Coach House to the quaintness of a 2 bedroomed duplex in the 400 year-old Summer Lane Cottages, there is a wide variety of suite accommodation at Summer Lodge. The Summer Lane Suites are ideal for families since they can interlead into an adjacent superior room.
Cottage
Ivy Cottage
This cottage is perfect for newlyweds looking for the peace and tranquility they deserve yet completely pampered by the hotel's style and service as and when needed. Spend a romantic evening in front of an open fire in the downstairs lounge area. The really special treat here has to be the hot tub in the cottage's own private garden space

Overlooking beautifully manicured lawns and pergola, the stunning award winning restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. If the weather is fine, tables are available on the terrace.
Steven Titman, our Executive Chef, and his team have devised menus that offer a seasonal selection of international dishes and local specialities. Our cellar is stocked with a superb choice of fine wines and Eric Zwiebel, runner up at the Best Sommelier of the World Competition 2007, and his team are on hand to provide recommendations and suggestions. Summer Lodge has recently been awarded 'Best of Award of Excellence' for 2005, 2006 and 2007 by the American magazine 'Wine Spectator', stating the hotel has one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.
A traditional Dorset afternoon tea is served every afternoon in the Drawing Room and lighter meals can be enjoyed in the cosy bar.
For a special event, The Dorchester Suite is available for exclusive use and bookings can also be taken for larger parties to be served in the restaurant.

Relax and unwind by the open fire in our cosy bar where you can sample a few of the many malt whiskies and an intriguing variety of vodkas. Of course we have a fine selection of wines to enjoy here too which may be recommended by our Sommelier, who is always happy to advise and suggest.
The wood panelled walls and antique furniture together with some curious items and some classic reading mean you can sit back and soak up the atmosphere whilst enjoying tea, coffee or something a little stronger! Savour the moment.

If you are planning a wedding, we can combine our expertise with luxurious surroundings to ensure that it is a day to remember and one that is unique to you. The beautiful country house hotel and extensive grounds provide a very special place for friends and family to gather in celebration of a marriage.
Summer Lodge is able to cater for parties of between 2 and 80 guests and is ideally suited to exclusive use. The hotel is licensed for wedding ceremonies to be held in The Dorchester Suite and Drawing Room and a Wedding Breakfast can be served in the elegant restaurant.

Evershot is a sleepy little village with rows of thatched cottages, take a stroll through and imagine times gone by with a much deserved stop off in the local pub; The Acorn Inn which is featured in Thomas Hardy's famous novel, Tess of the d'Urbervilles as "The Sow and Acorn".
