Built in 1875, it has welcomed many of the great and the good over the years including Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and Elgar. Today, its elegant accommodation, excellent food and superb leisure facilities make it the perfect venue for a getaway break, romantic weekend, wedding or business function.

We have seven categories of room to suit different needs and budgets.

Deluxe Bedrooms - Cosy and individual rooms, beautifully decorated and furnished in keeping with the character of The Grand.

Deluxe Bedroom with Sea View/Executive - Similar to Deluxe Bedrooms but with a side sea view. Executive Rooms are larger rooms, but do not have sea views

Executive Sea View Rooms/Junior Suites - Junior Suites are Larger rooms - perfect for those with a family or requiring more ample and luxurious accommodation. These rooms have a sitting area within the bedroom.

Junior Suite with Sea View - Similar to Junior Suites but with a side sea view.

Suite and Master Suite - These are even more spacious suites with a large bedroom and sitting area/room and luxurious bathroom. All rooms have sitting rooms but Suites have an archway separating rooms. MS have their own separate sitting room.

Presidential Suite - Enjoy the ultimate in luxury - a spacious bedroom with four-poster bed, large lounge, luxurious bathroom with whirlpool bath, walk in shower and large balcony.

Penthouse Suite - Again, this offers the ultimate in luxury – a spacious bedroom, large lounge, luxurious bathroom and sweeping sea views.

Food at The Grand Hotel is renowned for its excellence and has won us many awards. We have two restaurants, the Mirabelle and Garden Restaurants where you can look forward to outstanding cuisine and fine wines served in relaxed settings.

Afternoon tea at The Grand is not to be missed. It’s well worth working up an appetite with a brisk walk along the seafront so you can enjoy toasted teacakes in one of the country’s most famous hotel lounges.

Garden Restaurant

Our Garden Restaurant seats 180 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in highly graceful surroundings. The cuisine is based on the highest standards of traditional English cuisine with a modern interpretation.

Guests are respectfully advised that smoking is not permitted in the Restaurant.

Mirabelle Restaurant

The Mirabelle opened in 1989 being named after its famous Sister Restaurant in Curzon Street, London, which was at the time under the same ownership.

Immediately after opening, the Restaurant gained an enviable reputation and is featured in many fine dining guides as a consistent entry year on year. A modern approach to flavours and textures has always been an important aim.

The French Plum variety found in the Lorraine region, the Mirabelle, is famous for its full and pleasing flavours. We trust that your meal reflects these characteristics combined with service that complements the efforts of the Kitchen.

Spa

Enjoy a chilled glass of wine and a good book on one of our sheltered terraces...feel the wind in your hair with a bracing coast path walk to the famous Seven Sisters cliffs...let your cares float away as you relax in our whirlpool spa.

By listening to the needs of our younger guests and their parents, we took the recent refurbishments as an opportunity to develop superb children's facilities which make The Grand Hotel an ideal hotel not only for parents, but for their children too.

From the moment of arrival (where children have their own dedicated check-in steps) children are warmly welcomed. From there on, our excellent range of activities and ideas available ensure that boredom is not an issue!

The Grand knows that all parents need peace of mind, which is why our well-equipped playroom is run only by qualified carers,

whose sole objectives are the safety of your children and their enjoyment. While parents relax -
whether exploring the local attractions, or pampering themselves in the Health club - children will be playing games with other children and taking part in fun activities around the hotel.

The Grand Hotel is increasingly in demand as a place to say ‘I do’, something we put down to the tremendous care we take to get every detail of the big day right. We have a licence for civil ceremonies and partnerships, so you can enjoy the convenience of holding both ceremony and celebrations at the same venue. Our function rooms are both welcoming and gracious. They include the stunning architectural majesty of the Compton Room,

where we can accommodate up to 300 guests, the Silverdale Room where we can accommodate up to 200 guests, the Princes Room where we can accommodate up to 60 guests and the Arlington Room where we can accommodate up to 50 guests. We will work closely with bride and groom to ensure that everything is perfect from the champagne cocktails to the floral arrangements. On the day itself, our beauticians can be on hand to pamper the bridal party and soothe last minute nerves, and when the celebrations are finally over, your romantic honeymoon suite awaits.
